Meet our current capacity-building artists! Jasmin Rivas, based in Southbridge, is a member of our 2026 Worcester County cohort.

Pictured here is a photograph from Jasmin’s recent exhibition at Jacob Edward’s Library in Southbridge with her poem “No Access” from her upcoming memoir poetry and essay collection.

Jasmin is a Puerto Rican mother, writer, poet, and the President of Jaz-Yoga/Health and Wellness. Currently living in Southbridge she believes writing gives voice to the experiences of the people she advocates for and the things she cannot forget. As the first Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access at Old Sturbridge Village, Jasmin co-wrote, produced and directed the first BIPOC Historical Theater Project presented at this living history museum. She was recently published in her first anthology, “ELLA Poderosa: Poderosa voices, deeply rooted in strength, rising in unity, shaping legacies and inspiring the next generation,” along with nineteen other Latina writers. She is also part of the group that kicked off The Nuestro Southbridge Latino History Project during Latine/Hispanic Heritage Month. She holds a bachelors in English from Worcester State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Bay Path University.

This capacity-building cohort is run in collaboration with ArtsWorcester () with funding from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation ().

đź’¸ Win $300 and help A4A - take our annual survey by May 31!

Once a year, we survey our artist community to see how you're doing (and how we're doing)! If you engaged with A4A programming in the last year, please help us out by taking 15 minutes to complete the survey and be entered for a chance to win a $300 Visa gift card.

Why is this survey important?
✨It helps us see trends among our audience so we can better serve you.
✨Our funders require annual data to renew our grants, which keeps our programming free to all.
✨It's an opportunity to get your voice heard in the design of future A4A programming.

What you could do with $300
✨Fly round trip from Boston to Puerto Rico
✨Add 10 hardback books to your home library
✨Finally set up that Roth IRA to save toward retirement

📣ATTN A4A ALUMS

This past October, A4A became an independent nonprofit organization after 17 years under MASS MoCA’s wing. Those 17 years would have been nothing without the artists that we’ve had the honor of working with.

Whether or not you are able to join us on May 31, we hope that you will be in the room by sharing some of your artwork to be displayed in a projected slideshow at the party. There is no formal jurying process and submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will include as much artwork as we can include in 2.5 hours!

Eligibility + Submission Details:
✨You must be an alum or past participant of an A4A cohort program (Matched Savings Program, Capacity-Building Program, or Artists U)
✨Up to 3 high resolution images of finished visual artwork
✨Up to 90 seconds of video (this could include performance documentation) **Please note: videos will not be able to include sound**

Submit your work via Google form by Monday, May 25, 2026 at noon: https://forms.gle/RAja4cvTnrovJoKa6

Kay Lee is an Trinidadian-American creative based in Worcester, MA. Through themes of magic and mundanity, sweetness and spice, she enjoys drawing colorful characters and whatever sparks her whimsy. She is currently teaching herself printmaking while working on an illustrated novel that explores Trinidadian folklore. When she's not drawing, she's daydreaming of ways to bring her characters and their worlds to life while drinking her 3rd iced latte.

This capacity-building cohort is run in collaboration with ArtsWorcester () with funding from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation ().

Yesterday our full team, which usually works remotely, met up in Lowell for a full day in-person working retreat. We spent the day plotting out and dreaming up the next 18 months for A4A with a focus on potential new offerings for New England artists.

Plus we went on a field trip to the New England Quilt Museum ()!

Thanks to our colleagues at Mosaic Lowell () and Greater Lowell Community Foundation () for letting us take over their conference room for the day!
