Join us for an informational session about the Pre-apprenticeship program at YouthBuild.
The info session will be at YouthBuild from 12:00-1:00 pm. If you or someone you know is curious about a job in the construction trades encourage them to come and learn about the Illinois Works Pre-apprenticeship program starting in June. The program is open to anyone 18 or older that already has their high school diploma.

Period Poverty is a terrible thing, and you can help local young ladies to not be without these much needed items. Thank you Soroptimist International Bloomington Normal for coordinating this collection which will benefit YouthBuild students and local schools in the area. The drive is taking place through June 8th at the locations listed. You can drop off the items or use the QR code to order and ship directly to YouthBuild!

The Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship program kicks off at YouthBuild June 8th. There will be an information session Friday, May 29 at noon at YouthBuild. The Pre-Apprenticeship program is open to anyone 18+, has completed their high school education (or GED) and is looking to get into the construction trades. The workforce needs you!!

YouthBuild Organizations from across the state of Illinois gathered at the Illinois State Capital last week to attend the Illinois YouthBuild Coalition's Leadership Summit. Participants met and collaborated with youth from around Illinois, showcased their building skills and met with state representatives and senators to discuss the impact YouthBuild has had on their lives and their community. Special shout out to Representative Sharon Chung for speaking to the participants about servant leadership. Our participants really enjoyed their time at the capitol building and having the opportunity to personally meet with the legislators like Representative Chung and Senator Koehler.

Did you hear, The are coming to the Corn Crib this weekend!!! YouthBuild McLean is so grateful they have provided tickets for our staff and students to enjoy the high-energy "sportstainment baseball" show! Join us at the Corn Crib either May 23 at 6:30 pm or May 24 at 1:00 for a family-friendly showdown with the Rocket Squirrels. Spectators will enjoy seeing trick plays, dancing, crowd interaction and non-stop entertainment.

Know someone that is currently out of work? Learn about the Illinois Works pre-apprenticeship program starting at YouthBuild in June. Participants must be a have a high school diploma or GED, be 18 years or older and possess a drivers license or have the ability to obtain one while in the program. Info session May 22 at YouthBuild from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Today a few YouthBuild McLean County Members and staff headed to the state Capital to join YouthBuild programs from across the state for the Illinois YouthBuild Coalition Leadership Summit. These young leaders participated in leadership lessons while learning how to share their stories in a powerful way. The highlight of the evening was having conversations with our state representatives and using their voices to advocate for youth and the opportunity to build stronger communities. It is opportunities like this that transform lives and create generational change.
