🫶🏽Today is International Safe Abortion Day, and we’re saying it with our whole chest: abortion care IS reproductive healthcare, and reproductive healthcare IS a human right.

When abortion is banned or pushed out of reach, it doesn’t disappear. It gets more dangerous.

Right now, Virginia is the last state in the South without a ban or severe restrictions. That protection can change with one bad legislative session.

Unless we lock it in.

🗳️ On November 3rd, Virginians vote on Amendment #1, the Right to Reproductive Freedom. It protects your decisions about prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, birth control, abortion, miscarriage management, and fertility care.

⏰ Early voting is open NOW.

CALLING ON ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS BEYOND ARKANSAS!

Poultry workers are being pushed to the limit, and Venceremos is supporting the workers at Tyson and George's who have decided that enough is enough! Based in Tyson's hometown of Springdale, Arkansas, we are building a workers movement in the heart of America's poultry industry.

Anti-immigrant policies create a labor shortage. Rather than fighting against these policies, companies like Tyson are putting greater and greater pressure on the workers. Production lines are faster, and workers in a variety of plants report restrictions on their bathroom breaks.

Sign and share our Letter of Support, calling on Tyson and George's to engage in good-faith dialogue with their employees, to take meaningful action addressing concerns that workers raise, and to ensure safe, healthy, and dignified working conditions.

Don’t stand by. Stand with workers. Sign the letter! https://www.venceremos-nwa.org/letter-of-support

Port of Virginia
Hampton Roads
Norfolk

Longshoremen move bails of cotton at the Port of Norfolk, Virginia just at the turn of the century in the year 1905.
It has been said and told to us that those bails of cotton weighed more than 500 pounds.
God Bless each and every dockworker that came before us to build our union into what we have today.
God Bless the ILA!

At last night's Portsmouth City Council Meeting, the collective bargaining ordinance passed unanimously, giving Portsmouth city workers one of the strongest agreements in Virginia. Congratulations to the IAFF and UE, who have been coordinating their fight for collective bargaining for over three years! Now it's time to get those co-workers signed up and build workers' power.

This Is How We Win: A Guide to Building Working-Class Uprisings is a new book from the May Day Strong coalition (of which UE is a part). It is a guide to building a bolder, more militant labor and working-class movement, and to how working people can effectively use economic disruption to fight the billionaire class.

In a review for the UE NEWS, UE Communications Director Jonathan Kissam writes, “This Is How We Win can help working people imagine — and fight for — a better life. So get a couple of copies, read one, and distribute the rest to your coworkers, your friends, your family — anyone who needs to be reminded of the power of solidarity.” Read the full review here: https://www.ueunion.org/ue-news-feature/2026/new-book-explores-how-we-win

This Is How We Win is published by Haymarket Books and can be purchased on their website for just under $10: https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/2966-this-is-how-we-win

Workers are being pushed to the limit.

Line speeds are increasing while workers report restricted bathroom breaks, understaffing, and growing pressure to keep up with production.

At the same time, deportations are removing workers from our plants and communities, leaving fewer workers to do the same amount of work—or more.

The result? Workers are being pushed harder and faster, increasing the risk of serious injuries and amputations.

This is a crisis happening right now.

We are calling on our allies to stand with workers fighting for safer working conditions.

Sign the letter of support. Stand with workers. 📝✊🏽
