Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Colonial Virginia Council Golf Classic a success!

Held at Kiln Creek Golf Club, this year’s event brought together 64 golfers for a day of golf and fellowship in support of local Scouting programs. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and supporters, the event raised over $25,500 to support Scouting across our communities.

A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Hampton Roads Event Center, for their support of this event and our mission.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Golf Event Chair Bob Efird and Committee Member Chuck Worley for their time, leadership, and efforts in helping make this event a success.

Thank you for supporting the future of Scouting across Colonial Virginia Council!

Friday night, several Scouts and Scouters volunteered their time to promote Scouting in the Williamsburg area at the WJCC Kindergarten Registration event, wrapping up a month long local recruiting campaign led by Elizabeth Berquist.

Over the past month, Elizabeth and the Williamsburg Area Membership Team, including Alison Schmitt, Jennifer Rodriguez, and Beth Robles, coordinated a strong lineup of outreach events, including the JCC Summer Camp Fair, The Great American Quilt Reveal, the Jamestown 250 Rhythm and Revolution Celebration, and the WJCC Kindergarten Registration Fest. Together, they created engaging hands on activities such as a rain gutter regatta, marshmallow catapult, and dinosaur excavation. These activities helped attract youth while opening the door for meaningful conversations with families about Scouting.

The team also incorporated peanut sales into events and partnered with Day Camp Program Director Meghan Lamoreaux to increase awareness of the Historic Triangle Cub Camp.

A huge thank you to Elizabeth, Alison, Jennifer, Beth, Meghan, and all the Scouts and Scouters who made this campaign possible.

👏 A big thank you to our amazing training staff who spent the weekend preparing new Range Masters from all three districts!

Special thanks to:
🏹 Mike Murawski for coordinating the event
🎯 Dave Singletary for archery instruction
🎯 Dawn Heyse for BB and slingshot training
🍽 Chris Robinson for keeping everyone well-fed

And thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time to complete the training—we appreciate your commitment!

With new Range Masters in every district, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver the programs Scouts look forward to most at district and council events, including Cub Camp.
