Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads, an affiliate of Youth Volunteer Corps, connects youth (ages 11-18) to meaningful volunteer and service-learning opportunities. Middle and high school students are challenged to develop cross-cultural competencies, a stronger sense of self-efficacy, and an expanded network of peers, as well as increased career-readiness and life skills. Projects are supervised and facilitated by trained Team Leaders.

19 schools. 24,628 cans. All for the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. We are so proud of every student, teacher, and school who showed up and gave it their all.

This is what happens when young people decide to show up. ❤️

For the 15th year in a row, students from 19 schools on the Virginia Peninsula came together for our annual Canstructure — collecting 24,628 cans for the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank. From elementary to high school, every single can counts.

So proud of each and every one of them. 🙏
