Peninsula SHRM is honored to introduce our Workforce Readiness Co-Chair, ✨Marlo (Thomas) Calloway!
Marlo is a powerhouse HR strategist whose career spans over two decades across higher education, government, and the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Director of Human Resources at Community Alternatives, Inc., Marlo is a champion for the disability services community, building environments where both the organization and its people can thrive.
Why Marlo is a Workforce Readiness Visionary: Marlo doesn’t just lead HR... she teaches it.
The Educator: For 16+ years, she has served as an adjunct instructor at Tidewater Community College, shaping the next generation of professionals.
The Advocate: As a former military spouse, she has dedicated herself to supporting transitioning service members through executive training and career development.
The Leader: With a Master’s in HR Management from Troy University and past leadership roles with Hampton Roads SHRM and the YWCA, Marlo brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to our board.
Her Mission for PenSHRM: In her role as Co-Chair, Marlo is focused on cultivating work environments where people grow, leaders excel, and organizations achieve lasting success. Her unique perspective on military transitions and student development makes her the perfect advocate for our local workforce.
