The fiery darts are already flying.

The question is: have you picked up your shield?

The shield of faith is not positive thinking. It is the confidence to say, "I know." I know that God is faithful. I know that all things work together for good. I know that if God is for me, who can be against me?

A shield left on the ground offers no protection.

Pick up your shield of faith for your family. Pick it up for your future. Pick it up for the church. The enemy wants to bring fear, offense, division, and doubt. Faith stands its ground.

It is time to deliberately lift up your shield and hold it high.

The person you were before Christ was crucified with Him. The old you was buried. The old shame, the old sin, the old identity no longer has the final word.

Jesus didn't come to improve your old life. He came to give you a new one.

An "ism" is a way of thinking or a belief system. Pastor Wendy's point was simple: sometimes the biggest thing standing between us and freedom is our constant focus on ourselves.

Our failures.
Our mistakes.
Our feelings.
Our past.

The enemy wants you focused on every reason you think God can't use you.

But Romans 8 reminds us that the old life is gone and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

The voice of condemnation is loud. It reminds you of every failure, every mistake, and every reason you think God couldn't use you.

But God's Word speaks a better word.

Romans 8:1 reminds us that when we are in Christ, there is now no condemnation. Jesus did not come to leave you trapped in your past. He came to give you a new identity and a new life.

Read this verse again. Let Jesus change how you see yourself today.
