Behind the scenes, these are the board members, volunteers and most of our coaches. It truly takes a village and brilliant minds to come together and make this program happen. We had a lot to celebrate with yet another wonderful season! Thank you to the families for entrusting us with your amazing kiddos! We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.

That’s a wrap on our 5th season of Mini Milers! 🧡🏃‍♀️

We had a great turnout for this morning’s Fun Run, and it was so fun seeing all the kids out there giving it their all!

A huge thank you to our coaches, teen volunteers, families, and sponsors who make this program possible. And a special thanks to Newcastle Police Chief Mandella for joining us again and running with the kids!

Five seasons in, and it’s been pretty incredible to see how much this little running program has grown. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Enjoy a little recap of this morning! 🧡🏅

🏃‍♀️🏃 ONE MORE WEEK! 🏃🏃‍♂️

Our Mini Milers have been putting in the miles all season, and next Saturday it’s time to CELEBRATE them! 🧡🏅

Come out to Lake Boren Park, grab some coffee and a donut, and help us make some NOISE as our runners cross that finish line! 📣🍩☕️

Bring the whole family, friends, neighbors, cowbells, signs, and your best cheering voices. The bigger the cheering section, the better!

📅 Saturday, October 10
⏰ 9:00 AM
📍 Lake Boren Park

Every runner gets a medal 🏅
Donuts + coffee for everyone 🍩☕️
Lots and LOTS of cheering encouraged 📣

We can’t wait to celebrate these kids and everything they’ve accomplished this season. 🧡

🧡 Meet Coach Bisa! 🏃‍♀️

We’re so excited to welcome Bisa Meek as one of our newest Mini Milers coaches!

Bisa brings years of experience working with kids as a special education paraeducator, substitute teacher, Girl Scout leader, and mom. She has a huge heart for creating spaces where every kid feels included, supported, and able to be themselves.

And that fits pretty perfectly with what Mini Milers is all about. 🧡

Bisa joined us because she loves seeing kids outside, having fun, trying new things, and building confidence along the way. We’re so happy to have her out there cheering on our Mini Milers this season!

Give Coach Bisa a big Mini Milers welcome!

Mini Milers! BIG SMILERS! 🏅

One of my favorite things we teach at Mini Milers has very little to do with running. 🧡

We teach our kids to cheer for each other.

To stand on the sidelines. Give the high five. Yell their name. Celebrate someone else’s effort, whether they’re first, last, or somewhere in the middle.

Because there’s something pretty powerful about learning both sides of it: how good it feels to have people cheering you on, and how good it feels to be the person doing the cheering.

Running builds strong kids. Community builds them even stronger.

We had some special guests at our first Mini Milers practice! 🏃‍♂️👮‍♂️

A huge thank you to Chief Mandella and Deputy Curaming for coming out to support our Mini Milers and spending some time with the kids!

Chief Mandella even jumped in for a game of Sharks & Minnows 🦈🏃 and proudly showed off the Mini Milers medal he earned at our last Fun Run! 🏅

We love having the support of our local police department and seeing our community come together for our kids. Thank you, Chief Mandella and Officer Curaming, for helping make our first practice extra fun!

Fall 2026 starts TOMORROW! 🧡

We’ve been busy getting everything prepped for our runners, and seeing all these shirts together makes it feel very official. We can’t wait to kick off another season of running, games, teamwork, and lots of Mini Milers fun!

A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors, Dudley Smiles and Tapatio Mexican Grill, for supporting Mini Milers and helping us keep kids moving! 💛 We’re so grateful to have local businesses investing in our young runners and our community.

See you tomorrow, Mini Milers!
