A friendly reminder that STAR 2026 registration will close out on September 7, 2026. The fee to attend is $175 for youth and chaperones, which includes 2-night stay, food, and activities. (Wayne County 4-H has scholarships available for those who would like to attend)

The 19th Annual Robert F. DeRoo Memorial Youth Hunts are coming up in September and October and we hope you can help us spread the word to young hunters who want to participate in this annual tradition at Montezuma Audubon Center. Please share the attached registration forms with your network for the waterfowl hunter education course & dinner (Sept. 19), and waterfowl hunt (Sept. 26). Great Job to Carson Gansz who brought his pigs to the New York State Fair!

Carson showed his Barrow and Gilt in the Youth show today and yesterday! Carson also participated in the Swine contest the past few days where he competed in a multitude of different contests for a scholarship! Carson ended up placing 2nd in the judging catergory and 3rd in the record keeping category! Congratulations Carson!

If you get a chance stop by the 4-H Youth Building at the State Fair and see all the amazing projects! Wayne County kids did an amazing job this year! Look at all those Rosettes for outstanding projects! Well done all!

Great Job to Connor Schultz and Addelyn Place who competed in the Youth Dairy Showmanship Contest today at the NYS fair! Addelyn placed 1st in her age division and Connor placed well in a large class of 15-16 yr olds! Congratulations!

Also great job to Addelyn who competed in Dairy Judging today as well! Being apart of the 6th place team overall!

Great job and Good luck to all our other Wayne County 4-Hers who are competeing at the New York State Fair this week and next!

Congratulations to Addelyn Place competing in the Dairy Challenge today at the NYS Fair! Addelyn placed 9th overall individually in the Jr contest and was apart of the 2nd place Jr. team from Wayne and Ontario Counties! 🍀💚
