We completed our week of food distribution here in Elmhurst and Woodside with Love, XYZ and St Jacobus Lutheran Church . Thank you to our amazing team of volunteers for coming out to help. We are feeling the summer vacation drop in volunteers so if you can, consider voluntering with us. The work of showing people God cares for them by caring for them and doing something about food insecurity in our neighborhood goes on. Our truck is unloaded, food is sorted and stored. We are ready for Saturday's community food distribution.(Truck was too early for me to get a picture but I assure you it was there) Join our diverse community as we help a diverse community, do something about food insecurity and show people God cares for them by caring for them. It was hot and humid this morning. Thanks to our amazing volunteers our truck is unloaded and tables are ready for our food distribution. (I continue my post surgery recovery and remain well, on track but still unable to help bring down and set up the food) The work of showing people God cares for them by caring for them and doing something about food insecurity in our neighborhood goes on. Summer break is over and we are back in food giving away action. Busy week with over 500 families served. Summer break is over, our trucks are unloaded and we are back in service. Pastor Joseph Mantovani continues his post surgery recovery and everything is on track, going okay. Join our diverse community as we help a diverse community on Saturday August 1 at 4808 91 place from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Stop by and help show people God cares for them by caring for them and do something about food insecurity in our community.

Quick update: Pastor Joe's surgery was successful yesterday and he is starting his recovery and healing. Do continue to keep him in prayers and remember you may not get a quick reply to questions etc over the next few weeks.

Also remember we will be closed on Saturday July 18 and 25. We will reopen on Saturday August 1. Other Food pantries are available at Elmhurst Hospital with Pastor Cesar on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and St Mary's in Woodside (7031 48th avenue) on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12 noon. You can also go to St Jacobus Lutheran Church with Love, XYZ on Friday July 17 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

We completed our week of community food distribution here in Elmhurst (and Woodside with Love, XYZ and St Jacobus Lutheran Church). We are now closed for summer vacation. We will be closed on Saturday July 18 and 25. We will reopen on Saturday August 1. (Our Woodside site will be open on Friday July 17). Thank you to all our volunteers who came out to help us show people God cares for them by caring for them and to do something about food insecurity. See you in a few weeks.
