Our next all-chapter GENERAL BODY MEETING will be this Monday, Nov. 2, 6-7:30P. We’ll meet at The Warehouse (3014 Dauphine St.). General Body Meetings are held « EVERY FIRST MONDAY » of the month. New, past, present, & prospective members are invited to JOIN US in our fruitful effort to build ANTI-ZIONIST Jewish political community, ritual, and action in New Orleans. YOU BELONG HERE. Everyone is welcome. Racism is not.

On tap this month: After a brief hiatus, we’re back to the work of planning the chapter’s next campaign! We’ll also hold a breakout for folks planning JVP New Orleans’ next upcoming (11/13) monthly Shabbat potluck. Plus, we’ll have updates on JVP New Orleans’ wildly popular “JVP Kids!” — fun for friends & fam of all ages, built around curriculum from Simchat Diaspora, and so much more! A light meal will be served. BYO non-alcoholic beverage.

🎶 SHABBAT MORNING SING-A-LONG 🎶

Join us for a child-centered shabbat morning sing-a-long with musical accompaniment. We will have singing, story telling, crafting, and a call-to-action.

JVPers of all ages are encouraged to attend with childlike wonder - seriously, you do not need to come with a kid! It’s restorative and connecting for all of us to spend time unlearning Zionism in the presence of our youngest friends.

Haley Blvd.) • Families welcome! • This month, we’re honored to be joined by members of the PALESTINE SOLIDARITY COALITION AT TULANE UNIVERSITY. (Palestine Solidarity Coalition at Tulane University) They’ll be sharing back updates about the campus climate, and together, we’ll continue looking for ways to grow our partnership with today’s student leaders. • Planning to participate in Saturday’s rally? Three years into this ongoing genocide, and over 78 years into the ongoing Nakba, Israel continues to slaughter Palestinians in Gaza while accelerating violent colonization across Palestine.

Every second that genocide carries on, whether in Palestine or anywhere in the world, is a second too long. We must do everything in our power to end it.

Join us, , and for 's Power Half Hour on Monday, Oct. 12 at 3PM ET/12 PM PT, where we'll phonebank and take action together. You'll get to call up friendly supporters to patch them through to their elected officials.

‼️DATE CHANGE‼️ We wanted all hands on deck, big and small, for the March for Palestine this month. So, in order to best support our community, we are moving our monthly shabbat to October 16th. Same time same place— 5:30 pm gather and a hard 6:00pm start time to accommodate those with littles. Families are welcome. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share.

This month’s Shabbat will be focused on community: helping turn out folks for Saturday’s March for Palestine and reconnecting to our comrades across the struggle. We had an amazing General Body Meeting yesterday, finishing banners and watermelon and poppy kippot for the March. BACKGROUND: The resolution directly invokes the name of Palestinian American and Louisianan, Tawfic Abdel Jabbar, and eight other American citizens murdered by Israel since January 2022. It compels the release of information on these and related crimes committed by Israel, pursuant to section 502B(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 — with the ultimate aim of cutting off the flow of military assistance & weapons to Israel as a result of Israel’s grave human rights violations.
