Check out a cool program series our friends at the Park District are doing around the county and in our park too!

It’s that time of year again! Woodcock Season!
Woodcocks are awesome birds with funky mating displays!
We will be hosting a series of Woodcock Watch programs for the next three Thursdays at 7:30 pm.
• 12th at Glenford Fort Preserve (11995 State Route 757, Glenford)
• 19th at Wilson Mound (3400 Cooperriders Rd NW, Glenford)
• 26th at Ludowici Community Foundataion Park (405 Black Gold Road, New Lex)
With any luck we will see and hear their unique courtship and aerial displays. But it will require us to be a good and quiet audience.
There will be a short (2-3 minute) walk from the parking lot for optimal viewing. Some mud may be encountered so please dress for the weather and ground conditions. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on if desired and a flashlight for the walk back. Program will last approximately an hour.
We hope to see you at one or all three!

WHAT IF... What if we hosted an adult, co-ed softball, pick-up league?!?! Individuals could sign up and show up to play pick up games weekly. Teams will be drawn either before or at game time.

No trophies, no league fees, no team shirts, no long term commitment. Just low key, low stress fun, socializing & exercise.

$10 per person per week will go to the Ludowici Community Foundation - which maintains the park and splash pad.

Who would be interested?! We're trying to gage interest.

Tomorrow is Founders' Day!

You've been hearing all about our supporters (like Star Engineering) who do everything they can year after year to help keep this event free - and for good reason! With their assistance we make sure you don't pay a dime for ANYTHING while having access to seriously fun stuff...

Like the Boot Camp Obstacle Course - or the Wacky Chaos Jr. Inflatable - or even the Lego Obstacle Course. But those are only a few of the MANY great activities you'll be enjoying tomorrow (6/1/24) from noon-4pm at the LCF Park.

Be there - enjoy - make memories - and look around at what happens when a community comes together!

2 days to go until Founders' Day 2024 - in fact, it's about 47 hours from this very moment until we open up from 12-4pm for our FREE event!

How can we do this? We can't! Not without the support of so many great organizations like PRECISION CONSTRUCTION AND ROOFING - lending a HUGE hand from hundreds of miles away simply to help give you all an amazing day! They're essentially superheroes - you know, "Is it a bird? Is it a plane?"

Actually, it's a bird... Lots of them! Majestic, beautiful, and ready for you and your family from our friends at Midwest Falconry. That's right! They're coming back! Learn everything you've ever wanted to know about these incredible animals while you take a quick moment to get the picture of a lifetime!

3 days to go until Founders' Day 2024? Yep!

And it's all thanks to our generous supporters - like the Perry County Health Department. They've been such a HUGE help over the years and they never shy away from doing whatever they can to help our community!

In fact, they're a big part of the reason we're able to include AMAZING features at our event: like Pat Twists Balloons, who will be joining us again this year with her INCREDIBLE balloon art. Because on a hot day, a cool penguin can help make you feel so much better!

It's a BIG deal made possible by places like Home Town Fence - who go above and beyond to make sure we can keep our event FREE while including a ton of fun activities...

Like painting tile with fine folks from Somerset Artists' Co-Op or making the most amazing shirt you've ever seen with the Tie Dye experts from Psychedelic Fibers . Come join us this Saturday (6/1/24) from noon until 4pm - it's going to be amazing!

With 5 days until Founders' Day 2024, we want to encourage you all to take a moment to honor and remember... What we have is built on the sacrifice of others, and they deserve our recognition.

We'd also like to encourage you to visit the Book Mobile at our event - a great resource for our community, conveniently located near the food and ice cream at the LCF Park. 6 days until Founders' Day 2024... And we've got some big news coming as we get closer to the event! We don't want to give anything away though - wait - actually, we do!

Founders' Day 2024 is one week away! No joke...

Seriously. We're not horsing around.

But we will be! In 7 days you'll be able to horse around the LCF Park - on a real horse! That's right, back again by popular demand is horseback riding with our friends from Southern Ridge Riders 4-H Club. So saddle up and be ready for fun...

This is one of the many things made possible by the generosity of our donors - including AVI Food Systems, Inc. and Snider-Flautt Lumber. And if you think grab & go food is a weird thing to pair with showing gratitude to our local lumber yard, you're probably right. But it also seemed to work... Because we're incredibly grateful to both!

Only 8 days until Founders' Day 2024 - and we couldn't be doing this without some big help! Let's take a moment to thank Genesis Healthcare for their donation that allows us to bring a lot of the fun back to the table year after year...

You know what's also fun? Not having to walk really far on a hot day. So how about another thank you for Perry County Transit for joining us again and shuttling everyone from the Ludowici parking lot to the LCF Park gates to join in on the fun!
