Slade Middle School PTO Keeping schools and families together! ✏️💙🏡 Louis P. Slade Middle School opened in April 1960 as Slade Junior High School. In September 1992, Louis P.

It was named for Louis Palmer Slade, who was principal of New Britain High School for 25 years (1913-1938). It was the first school building in New Britain designed and built specifically to provide an education program for pupils from 12-15 years of age. It was designed to serve as a community center for large and small group meetings, public performances and recreation. After considerable resear

ch on the middle school concept, in September 1977, the school opened as the present Slade Middle School. The school continues to service the needs and interests of its students. Slade Middle School opened its doors to a new year and a brand new wing with state of the art science and computer labs. Today, the Slade PTO strives to continue serving the Slade Community which consists of the Administration, Teachers, Students and Parents/Guardians, Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, etc as well as local businesses in our community.

8th Grade had an amazing time visiting the Bronx Zoo for our end-of-year field trip! 🦁🐒🐘

Students explored incredible exhibits, enjoyed time with friends, and made memories they’ll never forget. From animal encounters to lots of laughs, it was the perfect way to celebrate an awesome year together!

Thank you to all of our staff and chaperones who helped make the trip such a success. 💙🐾

What a night! 🎉✨ Our 8th Grade Formal was absolutely ON and POPPING last night! From the music and dancing to the outfits and memories made, our students had an unforgettable evening celebrating the end of middle school together. We are so proud of how amazing everyone looked and represented Slade with style, energy, and positivity. 💙🤍

🦁🐍 Wild adventures at Slade! 🐢🦉

The Connecticut Beardsley Zoo came to visit Slade, and 100 students who earned the PBIS Wild Adventure activity had an amazing hands-on learning experience! Students learned all about different animals, their habitats, and conservation while getting up close with some incredible animal visitors. 🐾🌎

We are so proud of our students for earning this opportunity through their positive behavior, hard work, and dedication. Thank you to the Beardsley Zoo for bringing such an exciting and educational experience to our Stallions! 💙🐴

🌟 The Slade Stallions Science Fair was AMAZING! 🌟

Our students truly impressed us with their creativity, hard work, and scientific thinking. From innovative experiments to engaging presentations, the talent on display was incredible! 🧪🔬💡

A huge thank you to all of our students, staff, families, and judges who helped make this event such a success. We are so proud of our Stallions for stepping up, sharing their ideas, and showing what they can accomplish through curiosity and determination.

Huge shoutout to Mystic Aquarium for bringing by their sea creatures and being so knowledgeable!
