Celebrate New Britain is happening tomorrow!!

Main Stage will feature musical performances by:
💃 Tambor Y Canto (salsa band) 12:00-1:30pm
🎵 Skyway Band (R&B) 2:00-3:30pm
🎷 Avenue Groove (R&B) 4:00pm-5:30pm
👯 Diva and the Playboys (Top 40) 6:00-7:30pm

Taste of New Britain will feature New Britain restaurants such as Capitol Lunch, Thai 29, Miano's Pizza & Chicha Peruvian Bistro. Additional festival food options will include Vinci's Fried Dough and Queen's Ice Cream Truck.

Kids Zone Stage will feature performances by:
🎉 Circus Splendiferous (Acrobats) 1:00pm
🎪 Matica Circus (Circus Show) 3:00pm
🎉 Circus Splendiferous (Acrobats) 4:00pm
🎩 Chris the Magician (Magic Show) 5:00pm

Community Stage will include performances from New Britain YWCA dance, Smalley Hotstixx Drummers, New Britain Jr. Canes, Master Yang's Taekwondo, Magic Soul Academy Inc Drumline,
Yousef Tae Kwon DO, New Britain Recreation EKC After School Program, Janet Diaz (Music and MC by Jock in the Box Entertainment)

Sign up for the Hot Dog Eating Contest! 🌭

Are you ready to participate in the Third Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest at the Celebrate New Britain Festival? The city is looking for 5 fearless foodies to battle it out on stage! Visit NewBritainRec.com to share with us why you think you should be selected to join the Celebrate New Britain Festival's Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Martin Rosol’s.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th (rain date Sunday, May 18th). The hot dog eating contest will begin promptly at 3:00pm. Participants must arrive by 2:00pm and check in at the Community Stage. All participants must be 18 years old by May 17, 2025. Please note that all participants will be required to sign a waiver.

Submission deadline is Tuesday, May 13th. Contestants will be notified by Wednesday, May 14th (via phone) if they have been selected. 📞

Our Story

Mayor Erin Stewart and the New Britain Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department are planning the annual Main Street USA event; it’s a street-style festival that you won’t want to miss! This year, on Saturday, September 8th, from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., thousands of people will gather to enjoy a day filled with a variety of cultural foods, adult beer and wine garden, craft and vendor booths, a “kids zone” with rides and amusement activities, walk-around performers, stages with community performances, children’s entertainment, headlining musical acts, and more! Main Street USA is a celebration of New Britain’s melting pot of cultures.
