Last night was truly an inspirational moment for Local 223 Laborers and its Officers. We joined BTEA and our other Building and Construction Trades Council of the Metropolitan District partners in kicking of Recovery Week. Hearing Kendrick “KB” Bourne story of furthering and improving his career through sobriety was great. Then it was topped of by Kevin Hines story. If you have not heard Kevin’s story you need to, his message is moving. Please remember you can always reach out to the officers and staff of Local 223 if you are struggling. STAY ANOTHER DAY!!! because YOU MATTER!! and WE CARE!!

Tomorrow is the St Patrick’s Day Parade, for those of you joining us in the parade please be on the South Hampton St Bridge in Andrew Sq. No later than 10:15. Remember you must pre register to walk in the group. Please reach out to officers and stewards for the registration link.

Next Sunday is the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Local 223 has been a fixture in the South Boston community since the Local was chartered. We will be walking in the parade as a group as well as having a float for some of our retirees and families. As always our brothers and sisters from the other Massachusetts & Northern NE Laborers' Public Employee's District Council and the rest of the LIUNA New England region are welcome to join. Please reach out to an elected officer or steward if you are interested in walking and yes, please feel free to register your children and families as well. We will be lining up at 10:15 on South Hampton St.
