FFA Convention Day 2️⃣ Highlights:

• Kenadie Buehler and Joseph Walsh recognized as State Proficiency winners.
• Tessa Zimmer, Raygen Juenger, Erica Bohn and Joseph Walsh all received their State FFA Degrees.
• Mr. Kinzinger received his Honorary State FFA Degree
• Leigha and Morgan represented our chapter for our foundation star supporter
• Chapter Dinner at Outback
• Concluded the night with swimming back at the hotel and go-karts at Knights Action Park

• Chapter Dinner at Applebees

Yesterday, 16 members qualified for our End of the Year FFA Awards Trip. These members have been extremely active this year by participating in contests and fundraising! To thank them for the hard work this year we celebrated together! We spent the day bonding together at Top Golf in Chesterfield, lunch at Raising Canes, and ended the day shopping!

🏆ADVANCING TO STATE🏆

Congratulations to Raygen Juenger who won 1st Place in the District 5 Extemporaneous Public Speaking Contest last night! Raygen will be advancing to the STATE CONTEST at the Illinois FFA State Convention this summer!

🎉What is Extemporaneous Public Speaking?
Participants deliver a 4–6 minute, un-rehearsed speech on an agricultural topic. Participants select a topic, have 30 minutes to prepare using limited resources, and then answer five minutes of questions from judges, testing their knowledge and speaking skills.

🐷On April 17th, eight New Athens FFA members competed in the Livestock Evaluation CDE at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Members evaluated different breeds of pigs, cattle, goats, and sheep all for either breeding or market.🐑
