Neligh Public Library Books Are Just the Beginning!

🍂📚 ANOTHER WONDERFUL WEEK AT THE NELIGH PUBLIC LIBRARY! 🎭🎃
From brave monsters to magical wardrobes, pizza parties, and pumpkin pie, we've had a little bit of everything happening at the library this week! ✨
👾 TUESDAY | After School Program
We got in touch with our inner monsters! We read Big Brave Brian and then let our imaginations run wild creating our very own monster collages. Some were silly, some were spooky, and all were wonderfully unique! 🎨✂️
🎭🍕 THURSDAY | Theatre Troupe
Our theatre troupe is GROWING! We welcomed SIX new members this week! 🎉
We also celebrated our recent performance with a pizza party, reflected on all our hard work, and started brainstorming ideas for our next big adventure... a performance for Santa Night! 🎅🎄 We can't wait to see what these creative kids come up with next!
🦁🌮 THURSDAY EVENING | The Book Was Better?
We stepped through the wardrobe and into Narnia! After enjoying some delicious walking tacos, we watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and debated the ultimate question...
📖 WAS THE BOOK BETTER? 🎬
And the results are in... IT WAS A TIE! 🤯
Apparently, both the book AND the movie have their own special magic! ❄️✨
🎃🥧 FRIDAY | Storytime
We wrapped up our week with some cozy autumn fun! We read Fall Friends and made adorable pumpkin pie crafts using torn paper and cotton-ball whipped cream. They looked almost good enough to eat!
❤️ What a week! We love seeing our library filled with creativity, laughter, stories, and people of all ages coming together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this week! We can't wait to see what adventures next week brings! 📚🍁✨

🐦‍⬛ THE CROWS HAVE SPOKEN. YOU ARE SUMMONED. 🖤✨
CAW! CAW! 🐦‍⬛
If Moira Rose taught us anything, it's that sometimes you just have to embrace your inner crow. And that's exactly what we're doing at the Neligh Public Library!
Introducing... THE CROW PARTY! 🪶

📅 Wednesday, October 21
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Neligh Public Library

Now, you may be wondering... What on earth is a Crow Party?
Well, crows are known for their intelligence, curiosity, and love of interesting little objects. There are even stories of crows bringing shiny trinkets to humans they've befriended.
So naturally, we decided we should all become crows for an evening.

HERE'S HOW TO JOIN THE FLOCK: 🖤
🐦‍⬛ DRESS LIKE A CROW!
Wear all black, throw on some feathers, or go full Moira Rose. We encourage dramatic crow behavior.
💎 BRING YOUR SHINY THINGS!
Gather a handful of small treasures to trade with your fellow crows! Buttons, marbles, old keys, charms, coins, broken jewelry, or anything delightfully strange. It doesn't have to be valuable. In fact, the weirder, the better!
👑 BRING ONE MAGNIFICENT TRINKET!
Find one larger, unusual, or particularly fabulous object to show off. Maybe it's an antique, a strange thrift-store discovery, or something you found in the back of a drawer. These treasures will NOT be traded. Instead, we'll vote for our favorite, and its owner will be crowned LORD OR LADY CROW! 👑
🎨 MAKE A CROW KEEPSAKE!
After our trading festivities, we'll use air-dry clay to create little memory pieces featuring some of our newly acquired treasures!
✨ NO CROW COSTUME? NO PROBLEM.
Just wear black! And don't worry about finding anything fancy to bring. Crows appreciate the little things.

This is your official invitation to be a little weird, collect some treasures, and spend an evening with your fellow curious creatures.

COME FOR THE SHINY THINGS. STAY FOR THE CROW-MUNITY. 🐦‍⬛🖤

Tag someone who would absolutely thrive at a party like this. We know you're out there. 👀

🍂🎃 A heartfelt thank you to Stacey and Heather for their generous donation of pumpkins and gourds to help decorate our library for the fall season!

It always makes us feel extra special when members of our community think of the library as a place to share their kindness and generosity. Every thoughtful gesture, big or small, reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring community. ❤️

From all of us at the library, thank you for helping make our space feel even more welcoming and festive! 🍁

🚪🦁 TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT! NARNIA AWAITS! ❄️✨

Join us TONIGHT at 6:00 PM at the Neligh Public Library for another evening of The Book Was Better? Book & Movie Club! 📚🎬 This month, we're stepping through the wardrobe and into the magical world of Narnia with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis!

🌮 AND DID WE MENTION WALKING TACOS?! 🌮

That's right! We'll be serving walking tacos while we enjoy an evening of books, movies, and a little friendly debate!

📖 We'll chat about the book and share our thoughts.

🎬 Then we'll watch the movie together!

🏆 And finally, we'll vote on the ultimate question... WAS THE BOOK BETTER?

❤️ DIDN'T READ THE BOOK? COME ANYWAY!

Seriously! You do NOT have to read the book to attend! If you just want to enjoy a movie, eat some walking tacos, and spend a cozy evening at the library, we'd LOVE to have you!

Bring your family, bring a friend, or just bring yourself (and your appetite)! 🌮

See you tonight! 🦁❄️📚

🔎📚❤️ A MYSTERY SOLVED, A COMMUNITY UNITED! ❤️📚🔎

What a fun evening at Mystery Between the Shelves! 🕵️‍♀️✨

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday for the Neligh Library Foundation fundraiser benefiting the Neligh Public Library! We are so grateful for a community that continues to show up, support our library, and make these special moments possible. ❤️

It was so much fun watching everyone put on their detective hats, follow the clues, and uncover the mystery hidden in our library! 🧐🔍 Our Library Theater Troupe loved bringing this interactive experience to life, and we hope you enjoyed solving the case as much as we enjoyed watching you do it!

🎭 A special thank-you to Save the New Moon Theater for collaborating with us, helping prepare our young actors, and supporting us throughout the event. Your partnership means so much to us!

And to everyone who donated, attended, enjoyed some delicious food, purchased books, or helped make the evening a success — THANK YOU! Every contribution makes a difference and helps support our library and the community we love. 🫶📖

🌟 The show must go on! 🌟

Our Library Theater Troupe is already looking forward to its next performance this December! 🎬🎭 Stay tuned for more details — you won't want to miss it!

At the Neligh Public Library, books are just the beginning! 📚❤️
