Learn about " Predatory and Beneficial Bugs" at the next GRO Big Red Virtual Learning webinar on Wednesday, June 10 from Noon-1 p.m. Presented by Extension Educator Ian Peterson via Zoom, this is a great opportunity to join experts from Nebraska Extension to learn and ask questions.

Good garden bugs aren't just our pollinators. From pest predators to nutrient cyclers, learn about some of the other helpers in our gardens and how to support their ongoing presence to best benefit your plants and landscape.

Showing animals at the fair? 4-H youth ages 8-18 planning to show beef, dairy cattle, goat, poultry, rabbit, sheep, and swine at the county fair or state fair must complete YQCA and submit a certificate to the Extension Office by June 15.
Face to Face Training
June 2, 10am at the Extension meeting room
Registration is required before the training > yqcaprogram.org
Pre Test must be completed and $3 Training Fee paid online.
Post Test must be completed after training and certificate handed in to the office
Clover Kids are not required to complete YQCA training.

Hey 4-H Families with Animals! If you are showing livestock animals (poultry, rabbit, beef, swine, goat, dairy, & sheep) at fair you need to complete YQCA. Luckily we will have a training available in person NEXT TUESDAY (6/2/26) AT 10:00 AM Extension Office.

If you can make it, sign up this weekend. the YQCA website will be down June 2nd-3rd, which is of course right when our training is. :) If you need some assistance signing up reach out to the ext office as soon as possible!

YQCA is a national quality assurance program for youth ages 8 to 21, with a focus on Food Safety, Animal Well-Being, and Character Development.

Have you ever wondered why plants are important to Nebraska? Come to the 2nd annual Northeast Nebraska Education Compact Middle School STEM Camp at Northeast Community College to explore and find out the answer to WHY plants play an integral role in our everyday lives. Tour the Urban Farm, how we feed plants to animals, and learn about how plants play a role in medicine and soil health.
Don’t wait to sign up as last year’s camp filled up quickly with only 40 spots.
