I can’t say enough good things about Big Ed. He was an original DU Navasota member and a valued member of our community! He served in many capacities on our local committee! He dedicated his spare time to DU and was always willing to step up and help!!! Please keep him and his family in your prayers. He will be dearly missed! I know there is an offshore boat and a duck blind up in heaven waiting on him!
It is with heavy hearts that Navasota ISD shares the passing of Mr. Ed Hulsman, a beloved teacher and coach at Navasota Jr. High School. Coach Hulsman was an educator, coach, bus driver, mentor, role model, and friend to countless students and colleagues. His remarkable 51 years of service and dedication to the students of Navasota Jr High went far beyond the classroom and playing field, as he had a passion for helping young people grow in character through his strict discipline and tough love.
Coach Hulsman’s positive impact and lasting legacy will be remembered by the generations of students and families he touched throughout our community. He loved Navasota ISD deeply, and his influence and devotion have made him a true legend in our district’s history.
Our school community mourns this tremendous loss and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, students, and colleagues during this difficult time. His passion for teaching, his commitment to shaping young, productive citizens, and his booming, stern voice will forever be remembered.
