The Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Group volunteered to paint the Christian Community Services clothes donation and sorting building. They showed up at 5:00 p.m. We fed them pizza and of course, some sweets! After they received a tour of the food pantry and clothes closet, they went to work painting the building. Every youth group member had either a paint brush or roller, and they put six gallons of paint on the building in little over an hour. They did an awesome job. This is a very impressive group of young people, and Micah Black, the youth group leader, is doing a great job. Christian Community Services wants to thank Micah and all the youth group members for all their hard work! If you are wondering why we painted the building gray, Baylor Lumber donated eleven gallons of unclaimed paint they had prepared for customers. We mixed six different cans together, and this is the color we got. We will paint the door and trim white, so it should look great when we are finished. Thanks, Baylor Lumber!

Hi everyone, Dennis Saathoff here. I am VP for this org and in charge of inventory and distribution. I just wanted to let our donors and food drive participants know that we really appreciate the efforts that the community has made. Due to the overwhelming success of these ventures, we have been able to increase the amount of food distributed by about 25%. We also implemented a summer food program for any school age children. We are providing additional milk, cereal, protein bars and breakfast foods as well as more of our usual allocations by an extra 10-12 meals that can be prepared. Again thank you for your generosity.
