ENTRY LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

1. 18 years of age or older
2. Live within response area (~5 mile radius from Whitehall VFD Station)
3. Be of good moral character
4. Be in good physical condition
5. No felony and certain misdemeanor convictions
6. Possess a valid Texas driver's license
7. Submit a written application

Training meetings are help Mondays at 7:00pm with business meetings held in their place on the FIRST Monday ov every month. Applications are available in person at the Monday meetings.

The community appreciates folks with firefighting experience but is more than happy to train people new to firefighting (as many have already started out)!

Historically, the department responds mostly to grass/wildfires and motor vehicle accidents with a lower occurrence of internal/structure firefighting. Every day and every situation is different. Appropriate training and gear will be provided.

🚨FOR SALE🚨
The department is selling its near new condition rescue boat.
2018 Achilles 15' 9" boat with Yamaha 40 HP fuel injected 4 c*c. engine and Tiller steering. There are less than 2 hrs. on the engine. The trailer is custom built for launching from the bank or unimproved launch areas . It has an extended tongue to facilitate this task. The boat is essentially in unused condition. It has a 8 person capacity and comes complete with USCG required items. Additionally 4 Swift water PFDs are available along with other items. Last deployment was to Morgan City Louisiana to assist with Hurricane evacuation, it was not even taken off the trailer.

Asking $12,500 but are negotiable. Includes boat, trailer, and accessories. The funds will be placed in our SCBA fund to replace
our aging Scott Air pacs.
