We are an organization which recognizes the importance families play in supporting their children’s education. Because of that, we ENGAGE, EMPOWER, and MOVE parents into ACTION in order to strengthen parent-school communication and help improve the academic success of our students. Our 27 years of service and track record demonstrate that we have an effective parent engagement model and through this work we are building better prepared students and a stronger tomorrow!

Celebrating 60 years of community impact! 🌿✨
Last Friday, PIQE was honored to celebrate the Central Valley Community Foundation’s 60th Anniversary at the beautiful Shinzen Friendship Garden in Woodward Park.
For the past 5 years, CVCF has generously sponsored our Bridge to College (BTC) program at Dinuba High School and Orosi High School, empowering countless families and students on their path to higher education.
We are incredibly grateful for their long-standing partnership, vision, and dedication to uplifting the Central Valley community. Here’s to many more years of creating positive change together! 🎓🙌

Every family has a reason for getting involved. For Maricruz Sánchez, it started with wanting to better understand the education system and advocate for her son. Through PIQE, she found tools that helped her feel more confident navigating her son’s education and become even more present in his journey. Today, PIQE recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day by honoring the cultures, histories, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. For educators and communities, honoring Indigenous voices also means creating space to learn from their experiences and ensuring students see histories and perspectives that reflect the communities around them. We encourage continued learning, listening, and meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities, not just today, but throughout the year.

Hoy, PIQE conmemora el Día de los Pueblos Indígenas reconociendo las culturas, historias, conocimientos y contribuciones de los pueblos indígenas. Para quienes trabajan en la educación y para las comunidades, reconocer las voces indígenas también significa crear espacios para aprender de sus experiencias y asegurar que los estudiantes conozcan historias y perspectivas que reflejen a las comunidades que los rodean. Fomentamos seguir aprendiendo, escuchando y creando vínculos significativos con las comunidades indígenas, no solo hoy, sino durante todo el año.

A student doesn’t always have to say, “I need help,” for an educator to notice that something may be wrong.

Building strong relationships with students can help educators recognize when they may need someone to listen, a little encouragement, or additional support. When schools and families stay connected, students have more people in their corner.

Un estudiante no siempre tiene que decir “necesito ayuda” para que un educador note que algo puede estar pasando.

Construir relaciones sólidas con los estudiantes permite que los educadores reconozcan cuando pueden necesitar que alguien los escuche, un poco de ánimo o apoyo adicional. Cuando la escuela y las familias mantienen una comunicación cercana, los estudiantes cuentan con más personas que pueden apoyarlos.

Families, mark your calendars! 🎓

PIQE is proud to be part of the 11th Annual Fresno State Education Fair on Saturday, October 24.

This free family event brings together families, students, colleges, community organizations, and education resources all in one place. Attendees can explore Fresno State through campus tours, connect with CSU and community college representatives, visit more than 50 resource booths, participate in workshops and hands-on activities, and more.
