Family Promise Metrowest's mission is to transform the lives of families with children facing homelessness by mobilizing a diverse community to provide shelter, education, and comprehensive support. Family Promise Metrowest offers a comprehensive, community response to families who are facing homelessness through four programs that address a spectrum of housing and stabilization needs: Our Shelter

program offers temporary housing to families with children that have lost their home; the SAIL program supports families that graduate from our shelter for one to two years to ensure their successful transition back into community housing; our LIFE program helps families facing eviction or shelter entry remain in safe housing; and our Steps to Success program, which provides educational and career-building assistance to help families increase their income and create stable careers. By providing encouragement, guidance, and the resources to reach their goals, we help motivated, hard-working families move out of poverty and into stable, sustainable homes.

👟 Help Every Family Promise Child Start the School Year with New Sneakers! ❤️

A new pair of sneakers is more than just back-to-school shopping—it's confidence, comfort, and the chance for every child to start the school year feeling proud.

This year, we're providing every child in our Shelter, SAIL, LIFE, and Steps to Success programs with a gift card to purchase the sneakers they truly want and WE NEED YOUR HELP. Each family has chosen their preferred shoe retailer, and gift card amounts are customized based on each child's age and shoe size.

Tap the link in the comments below and sign up to donate one or more gift cards. Gift card donations are needed by Thursday, August 13. Thank you for making a difference!

2026 Keeping the Promise Auction Basket Drive

Help make this year's Keeping the Promise Auction on November 5th our best yet! Every donation helps local families facing homelessness access the resources they need to achieve lasting housing stability.

We invite you to donate a themed basket, unique item, or experience. Create one on your own or gather friends, family, coworkers, or your community group. Want your basket to stand out? Add a gift card to increase its value and appeal. If it fits your theme, a bottle of wine or spirits is always a popular addition and helps attract more bids.

Family Promise MetroWest kicked off the summer at the first Natick Nights of the season on June 25, joining the community in a joyful Pride celebration! Our outreach table was buzzing with activity thanks to amazing volunteers Cecelia and Ellie, who welcomed visitors of all ages. Ellie—who recently organized a hygiene products drive at Lincoln-Sudbury High School and is spending her summer as an FPM Outreach Volunteer—helped make the evening especially meaningful.

We were also excited to have our new Housing Equity Advocate, Robin Pedrelli, connecting with community members and sharing information about our work. Children had a blast creating colorful friendship bracelets with support from our youth volunteers, while adults learned how Family Promise MetroWest partners with families experiencing housing insecurity to help them achieve lasting stability. It was a wonderful evening of connection, creativity, and community!

On June 16, a dedicated team from Bessemer Trust gathered in downtown Boston to assemble 80 thoughtfully packed summer snack bags for children in our programs. Each drawstring bag included a reusable water bottle with fun stickers for personalization, a reusable container for fresh fruits and vegetables, and a variety of crunchy and chewy snacks. Timed perfectly as children transition into summer camps and daycare programs, these bags help ensure they have nourishing, kid-friendly snacks to keep them fueled all season long.

This meaningful service project was coordinated by our Office Manager, Diana Basile, whose leadership helped make this generous effort possible.

SUMMER DRIVE 2026 delivered joy to families across our programs, providing 75 age-appropriate Summer Bags filled with essentials like sunscreen, towels, hats, and sunglasses, along with fun activities including bubbles, chalk, games, and crafts. WOW!

Thanks to generous support from Dell Technologies, Morgan Stanley, Holly Shaughnessy, and many other Family Promise MetroWest donors, children will be ready for a safe and fun summer!

Our SUMMER GIFT CARD DRIVE also provided 40 gift cards for family outings and treats—from movies and mini golf to ice cream and pizza—thanks to 20 community donors and the Outreach Team of First Congregational Church of Natick, UCC. A special highlight was the donation of five one-year memberships to the Discovery Museum in Acton.

During distributions held between June 8 and June 26, families also had the opportunity to take home a variety of additional resources and gifts. These included art kits with basic supplies donated through a collaboration with the ASAP Afterschool Program; middle school literacy kits provided by individual donor Ryan Fowler; free books shared by youth volunteer Rhea Sethi through The Book Bloom Project at the Wayland Public Library; craft kits donated by youth volunteer Eden Barnett of KidsCanCreate.org; Father's Day gift bags assembled by the confirmands of the St. John-St. Paul Catholic Collaborative in Wellesley; and new toothbrushes donated by nurse Joanne Rosato.

🎉 Big news! Family Promise Metrowest has been awarded a $225,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, providing increased support over the next three years.

When a funder chooses to deepen its investment, it sends a powerful message: the work is making a difference. Family Promise Metrowest is honored to receive a renewed three-year grant totaling $225,000 from the Cummings Foundation. This increased investment reflects a shared commitment to helping families overcome housing instability and build brighter futures.

The grant will strengthen our ability to provide critical housing, prevention, and stabilization services for families facing homelessness, helping parents and children move from crisis to security and from uncertainty to long-term stability.

We are deeply grateful to the Cummings Foundation for its continued partnership and confidence in our mission. Their support goes beyond funding—it represents a belief in sustainable solutions, collaborative community efforts, and the lasting impact that becomes possible when families are given the resources and support they need to thrive.

Together, we are creating pathways to housing stability and building a stronger community where every family has the opportunity to succeed and a place to call home.

Our Shelter and Homeless Prevention Coaches recently worked with a family who had taken the significant step of leaving state shelter. Together, they recognized that the family needed additional time, support, and stability beyond what our transitional housing program could provide. Through trust, transparency, and a client-centered approach, a new plan was created that truly met the family's needs, including a transition back into shelter.

At Family Promise, shelter is more than a place to stay. It's safety, stability, wraparound support, and a foundation for long-term success.

As the family shared: “I’m grateful for the opportunity for more time. The caring transparency of your coaching truly helps us.”

We're honored to walk alongside families at every stage of their journey and grateful for team members like Marilia and Bianca, whose compassion and dedication make a difference every day. đź’™

Steps to Success Coordinator Kathy Rodman recently joined longtime Family Promise Metrowest volunteer Steve Beling at Analog Devices, Inc.’s Social Impact Fair, proudly representing Family Promise and sharing our mission with the community. As an Analog Devices employee and dedicated FPM volunteer, Steve has been instrumental in building a meaningful and lasting partnership between our organizations—one that has brought not only generous financial support, but also donations of essential items like backpacks, nonperishable food, and cleaning supplies for the families we serve.

In recognition of his incredible commitment, Steve was recently honored as one of our “Great Connectors” at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party. We are deeply grateful to Steve and Analog Devices for their continued partnership and unwavering support of Family Promise families.
