This is one of those projects that’s been talked about, planned, and worked on for a long time, and it’s exciting to finally see it become a reality!

📍Rutherford County now has mattress and box spring recycling drop-off sites, and honestly, it’s a big deal 👏

If you’ve ever wondered what to do with an old mattress, you know it usually ends up taking up space in the garage, sitting on the curb, or heading straight to the landfill.

♻️ Now, residents have a better option ♻️

A lot of people have put in a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes to make this happen, and it’s great to see that effort paying off. This gives our community a simple, responsible way to recycle mattresses and box springs instead of throwing them away.

Starting August 1st, local mattress recycling is officially open! We are excited to announce new drop-off options in partnership with Spring Back Recycling Nashville to help keep recyclable materials out of our landfills. 

♻️ Did you know? Over 95% of a mattress can be recycled into new products like carpet padding, steel products, and insulation!

🗓 Launch Date: August 1st
📍 Location: Rutherford County Convenience Center / Drop-Off Site

🛏 Accepted Items: Mattresses & Box Springs

Rutherford County is getting greener — and recycling your old mattress just got way easier 🌱✨

Starting August 2026, residents can drop off mattresses and box springs at four dedicated recycling locations across the county. Keep bulky waste out of landfills and help build a cleaner, stronger community for everyone.

📍 Drop‑Off Locations (Residents Only):
• Walter Hill Convenience Center – 6550 Lascassas Pike
• Florence Road Convenience Center – 4011 S. Church St.
• Rockvale Convenience Center – 9972 Rockvale Rd.
• Christiana Convenience Center – 1001 Midland Fosterville Rd.

🕒 Hours of Operation:
Tuesday–Saturday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

💲 Pricing:
$25 per piece (mattress or box spring)
