As we come together at the end of October, Blind Awareness Month, White Cane Day, the Coast to Coast Movement Challenge Fundraiser and the Bay Bridge Run, I just want to reflect for a moment on on what was accomplished this month. So many of us may have stepped into comfortable shoes of fundraising, others may have stepped into a brand new pair trying to break them in for the first time. No matter what kind of shoes you put on for this month-long challenge, I think we all need to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done nationwide. Small or large, if we made a difference for even one person, we have done well. Congrats to all of the participants. New Hampshire was proud to be a part of this and live the lives we want!

Observed annually on October 15, White Cane Day celebrates the achievements of individuals who are blind or visually impaired and honors the white cane as a crucial tool of independence. Established nationally in 1964, it also serves to educate the public about safety and capabilities within the blind community.

New Hampshire has also been participating in the National Federation of the Blind's Coast to Coast Movement fundraising challenge. A few of us had our walks in our areas of New Hampshire this past weekend. Pictured is one of our affiliate members with her group of 13 friends and family and a beautiful dog taken after they finish their walk around a local pond.

RESOLUTION 2026-01 Regarding an Immediate Motion to Dismiss Texas v. Kennedy has passed just now with no objection and a delegation is being formed to deliver this resolution to Attorney General Paxton's office during convention. Norma Crosby is leading the charge! Action in action.

Congratulations to President Mark Riccobono, Vice President Pam Allen, Second Vice President Everette Bacon, Secretary Barbara Manuel, Treasurer Norma Crosby. Board members Shawn Calloway, Ben Dallin, Jim Marks, Donald Porterfield, Jamie Richey, and Sheila Wright for being reelected to your positions within the National Federation of the Blind. Your guidance and leadership continue to bring the organization forward, encouraging, helping and teaching us how to live the live we want.
