Happy 251st Birthday US Navy 🇺🇸

Some might be surprised to learn that the official birthday of the US Navy is October 13, 1775. Back then, it was known as the continental Navy and consisted of a small fleet of ships patrolling to intercept ships to resupply British Army troops at or near the colonies. 🇺🇸

On today 25 years ago...

246 people prepared for their morning flights.
2,606 people prepared for work this morning.
343 firefighters prepared for their morning shift.
60 police officers prepared for morning patrol.
8 paramedics prepared for their morning shift of saving lives.
None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001.
In one single moment life may never be the same.

When you're stuck in traffic, oversleep, miss your ride...all the little things that annoy you...maybe you're exactly where you're meant to be at that very moment. May all who perished on 9.11.01 Rest in Eternal Peace & may the loved ones still grieving find strength.

Today, we are Praying for the Families affected by this Tragedy and Eternally Grateful To All The Brave Men & Women Who Keep Us, This Country Free and Safe. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

We continually see information shared about the different military family stars and service banners. Sometimes it is meant to educate. Sometimes it leads to comparison. And sometimes it shows just how much confusion there is about what each recognition actually means.

So we wanted to share the differences, because they are different. Blue Star, Gold Star, Green Star, Silver Star, and White Star do not all have the same history, purpose, eligibility or legal recognition.

But there is something at the heart of every one of them: Families.

Families serving alongside someone in uniform.
Families caring for someone who came home changed.
Families grieving someone they love.
Families trying to make sure that person's life, service and sacrifice are remembered.

Green Star was created because there is a group of those families who often struggle to know where they belong: families who have lost a Veteran to su***de.

We are not trying to replace another recognition or diminish another family's loss. We are not trying to compare one type of death with another. We are saying that these families deserve to be recognized too. That is why Green Star is needed. We hope this graphic helps explain the differences between these recognitions while also reminding us of what they have in common.

Behind every star is a family. And every family deserves to be seen.

Every person has ups n downs , doors that open and close, sometimes health issues but all you have to do is visit VA hospitals to see our happenings aren’t so bad

Remember Every day is a new day Make the best of it and always be kind to others 🥰

Today visiting Hines VA OWYH made another donation to the Homeless Dept. Hundreds of our special dinnerware sets, specialty juice and yogurt drinks, pkgs candy, ss tumblers and straws, tote bags and calendars

Personally my heart is flowing with emotion that we are able to help support those who served our Country for our freedom 🇺🇸

Operation Welcome You Home is proud to partner with Hines VA Hospital for a special Baby Shower Tea Party to celebrate and support our veterans, active-duty military families, and their spouses who are expecting a new bundle of joy. ❤️

As these brave men and women have served our country with courage and sacrifice, we have an opportunity to serve them by helping provide essential baby items for their growing families. Every diaper, wipe, and baby necessity is a reminder that their service is appreciated and their families are valued. 🇺🇸

❤️ How You Can Help�We are seeking monetary donations to purchase much-needed baby essentials for these deserving families. Every contribution—big or small—will go directly toward providing diapers, wipes, clothing, feeding supplies, and other baby necessities.
