OSOT - America (formerly known as OSOT - Illinois) was founded in 2003 by military moms who wanted to engage the community and average citizens in supporting troops. The effort has grown and the mission expanded such that the name was changed to allow the organization to be a greater part of the national dialogue about the needs of troops and veterans. OSOT - America is especially passionate at a national level about finding new and better treatments for Post Traumatic Stress.

Sending our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of the eight crew members on board of the terrible crash of a U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress. The plane crashed today after taking off from a California base, according to service officials, with eight crew members presumed dead. The aircraft crashed shortly after its takeoff on Edwards Air Force Base, located mostly in Kern County, at 11:20 a.m. local time, per a base announcement released Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the crash immediately, with efforts to secure the scene ongoing as of Monday afternoon, according to the statement.
At around 2:45 p.m. local time, or 5:45 p.m. EST, the base revealed that the B-52 was carrying eight personnel on a routine test mission. Initial indications are that the crash was not survivable, the release says, and officials were working to account for all personnel with the emergency response crew on scene. Base officials did not specify the cause of the crash, stating only that more information will be released once it is available.
Roughly an hour and a half after the crash, Edwards closed the airfield and began diverting all inbound aircraft, according to a social media post.
“All non-commercial visitor passes have been suspended until further notice to allow the installation to focus entirely on emergency response operations,” the post reads.

On this day in 1944, thousands of brave American soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most heroic operations in history. Under relentless fire and impossible odds, they pressed forward with courage, duty, and a belief in a freer world.

D‑Day became a turning point in World War II and helped begin the liberation of Europe from tyranny. The sacrifices made on those shores were immense. Many never returned home — but their bravery changed the course of history.

Today, we honor the heroes of D‑Day.
We remember their courage, the families who waited for them, and the freedom they fought to protect. Their legacy lives on in every generation blessed by the world they helped shape.
