Hunter Family Foundation Announces 2026–2027 Compass Scholarship Recipients

The Hunter Family Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the inaugural Compass Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year: Jaylen Speight of Gary, Indiana, and Coura Malcolm of Chicago, Illinois.

Jaylen Speight, an Education student at Indiana Wesleyan University, and Coura Malcolm, a Health Professions student at City Colleges of Chicago–Malcolm X College, have each been awarded $2,500 to support their continued academic journeys.

The Compass Scholarship was created to help motivated students move forward with confidence as they pursue their educational goals and prepare to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

The Hunter Family Foundation is proud to launch the second year of our Degrees Matter campaign.

This initiative is grounded in a simple belief: college graduates are vital to the success and growth of our communities and as such, students who have fulfilled their academic requirements should not be prevented from receiving their degrees due to financial barriers.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 by April 20 to support graduating seniors across our alma maters.
