Let’s meet another graduating student!

Meet Brentton!

Brentton is a spring graduate from Indianapolis, with majors in psychological science and sociology, as well as a minor in counseling. When asked what the most memorable moment was from this class, Brentton said his “most memorable moment of this class was getting to connect with classmates and share vulnerable moment, building rare and lasting personal relationships.” His plan after graduation is to start a job in HR at Damar Behavioral Health in Indianapolis, and he eventually plans to pursue graduate school in a counseling or social work program!

Congratulations, Brentton! 🎓

Surprise, our Caregivers group won the Immersive Learning Student Team Award this year, and we couldn’t be more proud!

Congratulations to Brady, Cameron, Christian, Daniel, Georgina, Karlie, and Paige!

Congratulations to the students who received the 2026 Immersive Learning Student Team Award - Community Social Support - Caregiver Support Team in Dr. George Gaither's PSYS 495 class.

The student team identified a need for caregiver support in Muncie and created support groups to address that need. They communicated openly, reflected collectively, and took initiative to adapt and improve. Post session surveys indicated that caregivers felt heard, supported, and uplifted during the group and that working with the student team was meaningful.

Students: Brady Ream, Cameron Lynch, Christian Thomas, Daniel Castillo, Georgina Pavon Borras, Karlie Brown, Paige Kemp

We’re back at it with another senior recognition post!

Today, meet McKenna!

McKenna Bivens (She/her) was one of our students from Fall 2025, who graduated this past December. She is a local from Muncie, with a degree in psychological science and a minor in counseling. When asked about her favorite memory she said it was “making ‘who's in your orbit’ bracelets during a gender diverse support group and talking about the people we love and who impact us the most.” She is currently working full time as a Case Manager for Aspire Indiana Health, and will be starting her MSW program this Fall!

Congratulations, McKenna! 🎓

Huge shout-out to the students in our Community Social Support class who have facilitated our caregivers and gender-diverse support groups this morning and afternoon! This weekend is the start of spring break at Ball State, but many stayed a little longer to make sure we could provide these groups to the community.

We appreciate their hard work before the break; they truly embody the spirit of beneficence!
