Does your nonprofit have a project or program that could use funding?

Knox County Foundation's Small Grant program provides grants of up to $10,000 to eligible nonprofit organizations serving Knox County.

Organizations interested in applying for the next Small Grant cycle must first submit an Expression of Intent (EOI) by September 15. The full grant application deadline is October 15.

Knox County Foundation recently awarded $482,600 in grants to support projects and programs making an impact across Knox County.

From expanding access to food and supporting youth programs to strengthening workforce development, health services and nonprofit operations, these grants reflect the wide range of work happening throughout our community.

Charitable University is returning to Knox County! Current and prospective board members and nonprofit leaders are invited to join on November 12 for this free training.

Presented by Knox County Foundation in partnership with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Charitable University provides practical information to help nonprofit leaders serve their organizations effectively. Topics will include board governance and policies, financial reporting and internal controls, fundraising, government filings and recordkeeping, charitable gaming and bingo.

☕ Light breakfast and coffee served from 8:30–9 a.m.

Knox County Foundation recently awarded $482,600 in grants, including $300,000 to Interchurch Social Services to support the development of a new food pantry.

The building, donated by the Knox County Land Bank, will be renovated to create additional storage for fresh and perishable foods and increase Interchurch’s ability to distribute food to other area pantries.

The latest round of funding also supports education and workforce development, health and human services, youth programs, and nonprofit operations throughout the county.

Meet Annaliese, one of this year's Youth Philanthropy summer interns! Annaliese (left) spent her summer working at SPI - Mount Vernon, OH alongside Executive Director Stephanie Calondis Geiger (right).

She helped prepare and facilitate camps, support community events, and create hands-on learning experiences for local kids. The internship gave her a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into making those programs happen—and a greater appreciation for what SPI offers local families.

"I think having SPI is great for the community, not only for kids but for the parents—having an indoor place where kids can play, but that is also a learning environment," Annaliese shared.

Stephanie praised Annaliese's work ethic, ability to connect with kids, and willingness to step in wherever she was needed. When an unexpected schedule change left a camp without its teacher, Annaliese—an education major—stepped up and led the camp for the day.

Thank you to SPI for investing in the next generation through the Youth Philanthropy Initiative and giving Annaliese such a hands-on experience this summer!

🚚 A new truck is helping HopeNow Furniture Bank keep its mission moving.

Earlier this year, HopeNow received a $50,000 competitive grant from the Knox County Foundation toward the replacement of its box truck. Now, the new truck is on the road, helping HopeNow safely and reliably pick up and deliver furniture throughout Knox County.

HopeNow provides essential household furnishings to individuals and families who are struggling to furnish their homes due to poverty and other challenging life circumstances.

The larger, more reliable truck allows HopeNow to transport more furniture with each pickup or delivery, while an improved lift system makes loading and unloading safer for volunteers and families.

It’s great to see this grant at work, helping HopeNow continue serving our Knox County neighbors. 💙
