Paco's Rescue Tails We are a small group of volunteers working at making a difference in the daily lives of dogs that have been abandoned in Carroll County, Illinois.

Paco’s Rescue Tails is a small group of volunteers working at making a difference for dogs AT the Carroll County Pound in Mount Carroll, Il. It is named for our beloved founder Mary's rescue dog Paco who brought love and acceptance to every person or animal he met. In Mary's memory, we are dedicated to making a difference for other shelter dogs. Dogs are abandoned /surrendered to the Carroll Count

y Animal Control, with limited resources, Animal Control staff cares for these dogs. However, it is a one man department with a part time weekend staff. There are no advertising dollars to promote adoption or bring awareness to their plight. Some of these furry friends have been here for several months. Each day the dogs give love unconditionally despite their fear and tough life circumstances. As volunteers, we exercise the dogs and provide one on one time and work on basic training. We diligently put forth the effort to release pent up energy and anxiety to help make them adoptable on sight. Our mission is making a difference for every dog who becomes a guest of the Carroll County Pound. We greatly appreciate donations. All funds raised go to the direct care and improvement of living conditions for the dogs. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations can be mailed directly to Paco's Rescue Tail at the Mount Carroll Banking Center, 410 S. Clay St., Mount Carroll, Il. 61053. Thank you for your kindness and support. �

✨️ Meet Ms. Dolly! ✨️

Dolly is officially over the 9-to-5 and ready to find her very own island in the stream—a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years. 🩷

At an estimated 10 years old, Dolly isn't looking to take over like Jolene. She's simply looking for someone who will love her, pamper her, and let her spend her remaining years feeling safe and cherished. 🐾

Much like the legendary Dolly the world recently lost did, this Dolly still has plenty of pep in her step! She recently had a large mass removed and received a dental cleaning, and she's now feeling good and looking great. As Dolly Parton said, “If something is bagging, sagging or dragging, I'll tuck it, suck it or pluck it.” 😂 Well, our girl has been tucked and polished and is ready for her next chapter!

Dolly's golden years can be her greatest years—she just needs a forever family to spend it with. ❤️ Could you be the loving home she's been waiting for?

Ollie had a wonderful visit at The Copper Cow 🐄 🥰 He got to meet new people, play with toys, and get lots of treats! He's was one sleepy boy before we even left 😴
He had some special friends from Veteran's Evolution, Technical School - VETS who came out just to see him! Although his manners still need work, they said he's highly trainable and shows promise to be a wonderful dog. They see SO much potential in him, they are offering 4 FREE training sessions to whoever adopts him! 😁🐾
Ollie is ready for his forever home! A few free training sessions, a little time & trust, & this guy will be the perfect companion! Whoever snatches him up will be one lucky person 🩵

OLIVER 🩵
Or “Ollie" - a 1-year-old Lab/Corgi mix looking for his second chance.

Last summer, his pregnant Corgi mama was surrendered to the pound, where she had a litter of puppies—including Ollie. They were all quickly adopted into loving homes, but sadly, just after his first birthday, Ollie found himself back at the pound. His previous owners felt he was a little too strong-willed and wanted to run the household. 😕

Ollie may be a jumping bean 🫘, but he does have some good manners! He knows sit, shake, and fetch—and he LOVES fetch! 🎾

Ollie is smart, stubborn, loving, and loyal. He needs an owner who will provide structure, consistency, and clear boundaries while giving him the patience and guidance he needs to succeed.

He’s worth the effort and deserves someone willing to give him that second chance. ❤️🐾

If you think you can give Ollie a loving home with structure and consistency, come out to The Copper Cow Thursday night and meet him from 5-7! Or just stop by & give him some love 🥰

We are set up at Carroll County Fair all week! Stop by for more info on these available dogs, volunteering, & snag a sticker!
Cail enjoyed her visit so much yesterday, she'll be back tomorrow (Thursday) for the pet show at 10:00 AM, then she'll be hanging out around the fair until 2:00 😊
