The “HomesCool 4H Club” came back again this year to do some volunteer cleaning at Morris Lion’s Park today. First the Pledge of Allegiance, a short meeting then on to washing the picnic tables and picking up sticks. After all their hard work they made some time to play at the park. Morris Lions wants to say a BIG THANK YOU to these families for helping make our park look it’s best! This group made all that work look fun and effortless. Thanks to the students, chaperones and parents for making our park look Fabulous!

It has been a Great Year so Far! Morris Lions Club had our annual Awards night and the swearing in of our new Board and Officers. This doesn’t mean we are taking the summer off. Look for us this summer with our beautiful raffle car and thank you to members that served this past year and those stepping up to fill leadership roles in the coming year!

Pictured: Lions Lynn Vermillion, Dr George Roebuck along with teacher/chaperone Mrs. Belinda Baxa and some of the Morris Community High School Hydrogen Car Team. The team advanced to the 2026 World Finals held this June in Switzerland. The Morris Lions Club presented a check to the team to help fill the financial need so the team can fully focus on the trip and their strategy to represent Morris, Illinois. As Lions club members we could not just spend an evening celebrating and relaxing so we had to find ways to help our community. Morris Lions club President Dr. George Roebuck presented Dave Di Vincenzo with a check to help with “Santa Claus is Coming to Grundy County”

Lion Paul Weitz pictured with outgoing Lions President Dr. George Roebuck was an easy decision to win the “Lion of the Year” award. Paul really exemplifies our motto “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion” by attending conferences for fun and continued learning, volunteering whenever and wherever needed and stepping up to be the incoming Morris Lions Club President! Once a year the Lions club enjoys an Awards evening for our members and members of the community. It was our absolute Pleasure to give Steve Barr the Citizen of the Year award from the Morris Lions Club.
