🚨TAKE ACTION: Protect American Beef Production 🚨

Illinois Farm Bureau and Illinois Beef Association are asking you to urge Congress and the White House to protect American beef production.

An additional 660 million pounds of foreign beef is set to enter the U.S. over just 90 days at prices 25% below market value, undercutting producers.

Now is not the time. Farmers need long-term market stability, allowing producers to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd, increase American beef production and ensure consumers have access to a safe, abundant and affordable food supply.

Complete the action request and urge the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee members to pass the Farm Bill with year-round E15 included.

The Senate Agriculture Committee is set to mark up the Senate Farm Bill, on Thursday, August 6th. We STRONGLY SUPPORT these efforts and recognize this as a crucial next step to ensure passage of a farm bill this year.

What does the Senate Farm Bill include?

✅Provisions related to authorizing the sale of E15 blended fuel year-round.
✅Strengthens support for farmers: Expanding access to commodity, disaster, dairy, crop insurance, and farm loan programs while increasing assistance for beginning, veteran, and specialty crop producers.
✅Invests in conservation, research, and innovation: Promotes precision agriculture, conservation practices, ag research, automation, mental health resources, and new technologies like plant biostimulants and sustainable aviation fuels.
✅Boosts rural communities and infrastructure: Improves access to rural credit, broadband, drinking water, healthcare, education, meat processing, and other critical community services.
✅Expands markets: Increases agricultural export promotion, strengthens Buy American requirements, and supports local and regional food systems.

If you were at the Grundy County Fair on Sunday, you know this wasn’t your typical showmanship class.

Twelve community leaders stepped into the show ring and got a firsthand look at what our 4-H exhibitors do every year. They were coached by the exhibitors themselves and gave showmanship a try.

Congratulations to Scott Halpin on becoming our first Community Leader Showdown Champion!

Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered from the stands, and helped make this event happen. I think this one is here to stay!🍀
