Kyrstin and her biological brother, Leo, are both celebrating birthdays. Kyrstin turned 16 on Sunday, and Leo is turning 20 today on Monday. Vicky turns 22 on Thursday, and Prince turns 23 on Friday.

We are always looking for interns, but internships at Project Chimps don't always have to be for chimp care. We also take communications and veterinarian internships. In fact, if you are in a field of study or in a mid career change, that aligns with our mission, but you don't see your specialty listed, and want further experience, email us to pitch your idea! A special introduction 🐵💚

Watch as Duane meets Leo for the first time at Project Chimps. While these two happen to be biological brothers, they weren't raised together and may not know they're related.

Every introduction is carefully planned and monitored by our animal care team, giving chimpanzees the opportunity to build new relationships at their own pace. Moments like these are an important step as Duane settles into sanctuary life and begins forming bonds with his new group.

We can't wait to share more introductions with our newest residents. 🫶

We are pleased to partner with The Zoo Groovy Yard Art for a fundraiser this Saturday in Mineral Bluff where a percentage of the day's sales will be donated to Project Chimps. Need animal themed yard art? A colorful show piece statue, ceramic planters or whirligigs? Come on down to The Zoo!
