Our mission is to raise money for the research of Ataxia and to assist those living with Ataxia. We hope to be able to provide grants to help people with Ataxia make necessary renovations to their home, such as ramps, grab bars, etc.

We are excited to host our 2nd Annual Co****le Tournament- Wobbly Tosses; Rock Solid Support on Sunday, June 14th!

The Ataxia Foundation of the Finger Lakes serves the Central, Southern Tier, and Finger Lakes regions of New York. Established to support individuals and families affected by ataxia—a rare neurological disorder that impacts coordination, balance, and speech—our organization is dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, fostering connection, and advocating for research. We strive to build a strong local network so that no one facing ataxia feels alone.

Today is Rare Disease Day. I was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia in 2020. FA is a genetic, progressive, neurological condition. Symptoms include instability, difficulty walking, slurred speech, and more.

I had no warning. I never thought at 25 I would stop working or that at 26 I would be diagnosed with a rare debilitating disease. I never thought at 27 I would need assistive devices to help me walk.

The last almost 6 years has been full of learning experiences. Learning to live with a debilitating disorder as it progresses is not easy. I fight for my daughter, for my family, and most importantly for myself.

I have such a big support group full of friends and family, they don't bat an eye at my needs and for that I'm grateful.

Ask me about Ataxia when you see me! I love to talk about it and to educate when I can.

Psychic Phil Jordan was able to join us for a group reading fundraiser. We sold out within 2 days of first posting about this fundraiser!
There were basket raffles and cookies made by Board Member Doneen Saar. DELISH! A huge thank you to her and our basket raffle donors.
All funds raised will go towards establishing grants to assist individuals with Ataxia make necessary but expensive home improvements.
Thank you to Phil for joining us and sharing your gifts! A good time was had by all!

We are blown away by the number of people who came out to show their support last night. Thank you to all who dined with us yesterday!! With your help and support, we raised a little over $200 and are continuing to spread Ataxia Awareness! 💙

Thursday, September 25th, is International Ataxia Awareness Day. Come have dinner with us and help us continue raising awareness from 4-10 at Texas Roadhouse in Ithaca, NY. Present this flyer to your waitress or waiter for 10% of your bill to be donated to our foundation.
