Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours! This year we celebrated with 110 wonderful moms who were treated to jewelry, purses, perfume, clothes, socks, cosmetic bags, and a special dessert. And 39 of our moms even won a raffle prize! Many thanks to the staff, our volunteers, everyone who donated some amazing gifts, and Carla's Bakery for the yummy cake. You all helped to make this a special day for some very deserving clients.

Thank you just doesn't seem like enough, but we are so grateful to Patricia Calderon for over 28 years of service to the Pantry and to the community of Moorpark at large.

Patricia was central to all the good works that the Pantry performed during that time. She worked diligently with Ruben Castro and then stepped into leadership when he left. Patricia's vision was always focused on how to do the most good for the most people. She treated everyone with dignity: clients, volunteers, community members, etc. She exemplified servant leadership for all of us. Her legacy will live on through the thousands of children who got to pick out new shoes every year to start the school year and the families that were so grateful for Christmas gifts for their children and food for their tables. But mostly, EVERYONE is grateful for Patricia's servant heart! It was her values that were mirrored in the volunteers and in turn shared with the clients. There will never be anyone like you, Patricia!

The volunteers and the community extend our gratitude many times over and wish you peace and joy on the new beginnings that lie ahead.

We’re ready! Starting tomorrow, we will be providing so many wonderful gifts so that 446 children will wake up to the glory of Christmas morning.
