Knowles Teacher Initiative The Knowles Teacher Initiative supports the efforts of high school mathematics and science teachers

The Knowles Teacher Initiative is a nonprofit organization that supports a national network of mathematics and science teachers who are collaborative, innovative leaders improving education for all students in the United States. We strive to create an educational system that is led by teachers who are equipped to solve difficult problems and respond to local challenges in order to serve all of our nation’s students.

In this workshop, teachers will explore a physical science phenomenon to develop an understanding of how the practices of questioning, modeling, and data analysis support students in building content knowledge. Last weekend, Knowles welcomed the Teaching Fellowship 2026 cohort to our office in New Jersey for their first meeting! Over the two day meeting, Fellows engaged in tasks, delved into discussions about their practice, learned instruction strategies, and more.

The Knowles Teaching Fellowship is more than engaging PD. It is also a space to learn and grow in community with other teachers.

Two Knowles Senior Fellows are presenting tomorrow at the North American Association for Environmental Education! Rebecca Van Tassell and Lauren Kline are presenting: Immersive Research Experiences to Inspire and Support Environmental Education.
