We're still looking for artists brave enough to join us for Merry Market, held on Iron Bowl Saturday — Saturday, November 28, 9am to 2pm. Are you in it for the art? WE ARE!
Apply online here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XnZoeuilFhgiU-J8PQIqM3vQdVhJ7YGefRHhObf3OBo/viewform?edit_requested=true
Or download and mail the application.
🏈 IRON BOWL SATURDAY. 🏈
We know. We’re not confused. We’re just choosing art! 😉
Yes, Montevallo Merry Market is happening on November 28—the same day Alabama and Auburn will battle it out on the gridiron.
But hear us out…
Not everyone is an Alabama fan.
Not everyone is an Auburn fan.
And some of you are just here for the art. 🎨🎁
Plus, Merry Market will be OVER BEFORE THE GAME IS, so you can shop local, support artists, find some seriously good handmade gifts—and still make it home in time to yell at the TV.

This past Saturday's Tinglewood Festival was AWESOME! Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the festival; and to all the artists, musicians, volunteers, sponsors and others who pull this off year after year. Here are a few photos, compliments of Glen Barr. Enjoy!

Help! We need a poster for Artwalk 2026! We are looking for a non-AI-generated original artwork that communicates the spirit of Artwalk- quirky, family-friendly, eclectic, handmade, and fall festival-ish (keep in mind our weather date is AFTER Halloween/All Saints/Dia de Muertos/Samhain weekend)! $50/honorarium each for up to four selected works; of course, artists are credited in all publications.

Specs:
- No day/time/etc text necessary, these will be tiled over that information in a final version, or individual editions.
- AI boundaries: you may use embedded AI-based tools (brush simulators, filters, background removers, etc), but text-to-image generated submissions are not accepted (I have the thingy that can find the embedded code tag if a tool is used, as all digital apps have)
-No color limit.
-File type: compressed PDF for consideration; those chosen will be asked to send a JPG. If you are making a physical piece of art and scanning to submit, JPG is ok, but please use a proper scanning app like CamScanner (photos in the living room can be difficult to gauge true quality!)
-Size: no smaller than 600dpi, please.

We are excited to congratulate our own MAC board member Amy Feger on being chosen!

Supporting individual artists is key to Alabama’s creative growth. That’s why the Council on the Arts recently awarded Fellowship grants to 23 Alabama-based artists and arts educators – totaling $172,500 in funding.

We’re excited about the positive impact these grants will have on the artistic community in our state and look forward to the creative endeavors made possible through this program. Find out more: https://media.alabama.gov/pr/pr.aspx?id=16760

Congrats to our 2027 Fellowship cohort!
