🌻 That’s a wrap on another Highland Farmers’ Market season! 🌻

A big THANK YOU to all of our wonderful vendors who showed up week after week with fresh produce, handmade goods, baked treats, and so many other local favorites. And thank you to everyone who stopped by to shop, visit with neighbors, and support our local growers and makers.

We’re already looking ahead to next year’s market and are excited to welcome everyone back — with plans to bring back entertainment, too! 🎶

We’re putting some fresh ideas to work behind the scenes at The Highland Center!

We’re excited to be working with graduate students from Bridgewater College’s Master of Nonprofit Management program as they research new data management software options for The Highland Center.

The students are gaining real-world experience and class credit, while we get the benefit of their research and new perspectives on how we can improve our systems.

🍎🌽 Balance out the fair food! 🌽🍎

Hot dogs, funnel cakes, fried everything… it’s fair week, and we’re not here to judge. 😋 But after all that greasy goodness, your body might be ready for something fresh!

Stop by the Highland Farmers’ Market this Friday (3:30-6pm) for locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh-baked goods, meats, and other delicious local foods. Stock up on the good stuff and bring a little balance to your fair-food indulgence. 🥕🍅🥬

Take note! Tuesday Talks will be taking a break for the next few months. While we’re on pause, we’ll be looking at how we can make the program more accessible—including finding an event time that works for more people.

We want Tuesday Talks to be a place where everyone who’s interested has a chance to participate. Have thoughts about what day or time would work best for you? We’d love to hear them!

What opportunities would an Appalachian School bring to Highland County?

What questions should be considered?

How can our community shape the future together?

These are the kinds of conversations we'll have during our Community Dinner & Conversation on August 15 at 5:30 PM.

No presentations to sit through—just neighbors sharing ideas, asking questions, and listening to one another over dinner.

We hope you'll join us.
