Join the Kids Connection Team!

Do you enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in your community? Kids Connection is looking for two dedicated team members who are passionate about helping children learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Our program serves children ages 5–18, and we're looking for individuals who are energetic, dependable, and ready to jump into a fast-paced day filled with activities, learning, mentoring, and play. Every day is different, and every day is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child's life.

We're looking for people who can be:
A positive role model
A mentor and leader
A team player
Dependable and committed to making a difference

Successful applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and enjoy working with children in an active, engaging environment.

Welcome to the 104th Annual Ski Hi Stampede!
The Monte Vista Police Department is pleased to welcome residents and visitors to the 2026 Ski-Hi Stampede. We hope you enjoy the rodeo, concerts, dances, carnival, parade, and all the events that make this one of the San Luis Valley's premier traditions.
Throughout the weekend, you will notice an increased presence of law enforcement and emergency personnel working to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. We ask everyone to celebrate responsibly, obey all laws, and follow the directions of officers and event staff.
Parade Information
The annual Stampede Parade will take place on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Temporary street closures will be in place before and during each parade.
If you are not attending the parade, please use the alternate traffic route shown on the attached map to avoid delays. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time during parade hours.
Please review the attached Parade Route Map and Alternate Traffic Route Map before traveling through downtown Monte Vista.
Thank you for helping us make this year's Ski-Hi Stampede safe, enjoyable, and memorable. We appreciate your cooperation and wish everyone a fun and safe Stampede!

Parents, The Blue Room (K-2) will be closed today, June 23, due to an unexpected staff shortage. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes your family with the short notice. We will share an update regarding tomorrow’s schedule by the end of the day today. As a reminder to help us maintain safe staffing levels and a healthy environment, please keep your child home if they are feeling unwell. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Just a quick update for summer programs. Our green room, which is 3rd grade and older is currently at capacity at this time. We have started a waitlist, and will move kids into active enrollment as we have space become available.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, we have a few important scheduling reminders for you:

Last Day of Afterschool: Thursday, May 21st.(we will pick students up when they are released for the 1/2 day)

Program Closure: We will be CLOSED from May 22th through May 29th for mandatory staff training.

Summer Program Reopening: We will reopen for our Summer Program on Monday, June 1st.(please talk to staff about updating your information and if your child will be attending this summer)

Summer Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM(we provide breakfast and lunch and an afternoon snack)
