What an incredible day of service, teamwork, and community impact!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the MetroWest Chapter of Credit Unions and its member credit unions for coming together to sponsor and build 50 beds that will soon provide a safe, comfortable place to sleep for children throughout the Downriver Wayne County communities. ❤️🛏️❤️

Because of your generosity, commitment, and willingness to roll up your sleeves, 50 children will have a bed of their own and a brighter tomorrow. 🫶

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Advantage One Credit Union – Brownstown Township Branch for serving as the host site and helping make this event such a tremendous success. 🙌

The energy, collaboration, and community spirit on display were truly inspiring. Together, we proved that when organizations unite around a common purpose, lives are changed.

We’re excited to celebrate FOUR new Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapters in Michigan, including our neighbors in Lenawee and Jackson Counties! 👏

The mission is growing and so is the impact.

👉 No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

We're thrilled to announce 27 NEW chapters joining the Sleep in Heavenly Peace family, plus nine existing chapters celebrating new leadership and hub expansions.

Our quarterly chapter training brought passionate volunteers together in Lehi, Utah (May 1-2, 2026) to equip them with the skills and confidence to lead their communities in ending child bedlessness. **This is the largest chapter training cohort since 2018.**

With more than 120,000 kids nationwide on our bed waitlist and over 400 chapters strong, we're growing our reach to serve more children than ever before. 💙🛏

Tonight in Monroe, 6 more kids are resting in beds of their very own. Huge credit to our volunteer delivery leaders who pushed through tough weather to make it happen.

And just when the work was done, they were met with this incredible rainbow; a fitting reminder of what this is all about. 🫶

Guided by service, compassion, and a commitment to care for others, our community came together today to make a difference for local children.

At Newport Fireman’s Park, alongside the amazing students from St. Mary Catholic Central High School, we came together for a powerful morning of service - hosted by the Monroe Michigan Knights of Columbus and the Men’s Prayer Breakfast Group.

56 beds built in just 90 minutes.
Let that sink in… 56 children across our community one step closer to having a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

This kind of impact doesn’t happen without an army of support:

• Huge thank you to The Mitten Cafe & Bakeshop for fueling our volunteers with breakfast
• Appreciation to Ryan Mink of Monroe County Reporters and Tiffany's Pizza Frenchtown for providing a well-earned lunch

Today we were excited to kick off our first Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Monroe County bed build of the 2026 season alongside our incredible partners at North Monroe Street Church! ❤️🛏️❤️

After the winter break, it felt great to get back together with our volunteers and community to start building beds again for local children in need. 🪚🧰

This event also marked our Second Annual Bed Build with the North Monroe community, and once again they showed up in a big way to support the mission that No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town.

What made today especially meaningful was the strong youth-powered theme throughout the build. Young volunteers stepped up, rolled up their sleeves, and got hands-on sanding, drilling, and assembling beds alongside our build station leaders and SHP Red Shirt Core Team. These kids worked hard knowing that their efforts today will directly impact 50 children in our community, giving them the opportunity to sleep safely and peacefully in their very own beds.

Moments like these remind us that we are not just building beds — we are building compassion, service, and leadership in the next generation. Watching these young volunteers take pride in their work and understand the impact they are making was truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you to North Monroe Street Church for sponsoring and hosting this build and for your continued partnership and commitment to the children of Monroe County.
