September is Recovery Month.

For us, recovery is about much more than simply walking away from drugs or alcohol. It’s about men encountering Jesus, being restored, and learning how to walk in the freedom only He can give.

We have watched the gospel bring dead things back to life, restore families, and give hope to men who thought their stories were already over.

Recovery is possible. Restoration is real. And Jesus still sets people free.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those who could not overcome the physical grip of addiction.

We remember their lives. We remember their families. And we remember that behind every statistic is somebody’s child, parent, brother, sister or friend.

For those still fighting, there is still hope. Your life matters, help is available, and your story does not have to end here.

One day, God will wipe away every tear, and death and sorrow will be no more.

Today, on Fentanyl Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those who were unable to overcome the physical grip of addiction.

These are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and friends, and their lives matter. We also remember the families who still carry the weight of their absence every day.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.”

Today we grieve with those who grieve, but we do not grieve without hope. Jesus is still saving, restoring and setting captives free.

What an incredible few days at the Ground 40 Ranch!

A few members of the Coca-Cola Consolidated Response Team came out Monday and Tuesday to prepare the property, and today the rest of the team joined them, led by our friend Tony Nunley.

We started the morning with prayer and a brief introduction. Then we shared a little of our story through Micah Tyler’s “Walking Free” video which many of them were already familiar with.

After that, we went to work.

From spreading mulch and beautifying the property to a few demolition projects, work was happening everywhere. But it was about so much more than completing a list. There were smiles, laughter, prayers, and encouragement all across the Ranch.

We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to serve beside us, because that’s exactly what they did. From the moment this team stepped off the GROUND 40 bus, this group of men and women stood beside our guys and worked with them.

We are incredibly grateful for Tony and the entire Coca-Cola Consolidated Response Team. The Lord has been so faithful to connect us with people who don’t just believe in what we’re doing, but are willing to roll up their sleeves and become part of it.

One of our favorite days of the year is almost here… GROUND 40’s Farm Fun Day!

Join us on Friday, October 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 303 Dale Street for a day the whole family can enjoy.

As always, it’s completely FREE! We’ll have hayrides, bounce houses, games, music, food, vendors, and plenty of fun for all ages. So invite your family, your friends, your neighbors, everyone is welcome!

Tonight we were grateful to welcome friends from Elevation to the property. Together we lifted our voices in worship to the God of heaven.

We’re thankful for how they served our men, shared a meal with them, and helped lead a powerful night of praise. There’s something sacred about God’s people gathering, laying aside distractions, and exalting the name of Jesus.

Even after the music ended, the Lord continued to move. The Holy Spirit led us into baptisms with several of our men. It was a beautiful picture of new life in Christ, buried with Him in death and raised to walk in newness of life.

We don’t take nights like this for granted. We’re simply grateful for His presence, for transformed lives, and for a Savior who is still saving, restoring, and drawing people to Himself.

Talk about commitment.

This group of incredible people has been supporting GROUND 40 since day one in one way or another. Through every season, they’ve continued to show up, and we’re so grateful for their faithfulness.

Now, month after month, we can count on them to come to the Ranch, share a meal with our men, encourage them, listen to their stories, and remind them what it looks like to walk in a manner worthy of the calling they’ve received in Christ.

Dedrick and Nancy Brown, along with an amazing group from Lee Park, have become such an important part of the lives of our men. Their kindness, consistency, and willingness to serve without seeking recognition is a testimony in itself.

Thank you for loving our men so well. We are grateful for each one of you, and we pray the Lord continues to bless you as you continue to bless others.

We are so thankful for our friends at Hickory Grove. Every other month, they bring a group from their addiction ministry, X-Change, to spend the evening with our men.

We always start by breaking bread together. Then we worship through song, followed by worship through the preaching of God’s Word. There is something special about believers from different churches coming together around the gospel.

One of the men serving with them is one of our own graduates, and seeing the Lord continue to use his life is a blessing.

Tonight, Kyle brought a timely message. You could see his love for the Lord and his dependence on the Holy Spirit as he opened the Scriptures.

Thank you, Hickory Grove, for loving our men so well. 🫶🏼
