UCCA is actively recruiting for a limited number of remaining 4-year-old Head Start openings for the 2026–2027 program year.

Head Start classrooms are available at:

📍 Ansonville Elementary
📍 Morven Elementary
📍 Central Center for Children & Families

Head Start provides much more than a classroom experience. Children receive:

✅ High-quality early learning
✅ Nutritious meals and snacks
✅ Health screenings
✅ Family support services
✅ School readiness support

🚌 Transportation may be available for your area.

🚨 ATTENTION UNION COUNTY FAMILIES — WI******ER HEAD START HAS A FEW 4-YEAR-OLD SLOTS LEFT! 🚨

For more than 100 years, education has been part of the heart of Monroe’s historic Wi******er community.

Generations of children have walked through this community on their way to classrooms, teachers, opportunities, and brighter futures. The educational roots of Wi******er reach back to the early 1900s, and the historic Wi******er Avenue School served generations of students beginning in 1922.

Today, Union County Community Action continues that proud tradition through the Wi******er Head Start Center.

Times have changed.....but the mission remains familiar: give children a strong beginning and help families build a brighter future.

And right now, we have an opportunity for a few more Union County families.

🎓 A LIMITED NUMBER OF HEAD START SLOTS REMAIN FOR 4-YEAR-OLDS FOR THE 2026–2027 PROGRAM YEAR.

SMART START RESOURCE CENTER UPDATE ✨

The work before the welcome.

Over the past several weeks, our team has been putting everything in place at the new home of the UCCA Smart Start Resource Center.

What began with boxes, shelving and a lot of work is becoming a welcoming space filled with educational materials and resources for families, early childhood educators and those who support young children.

Exciting News for Anson County Families!

UCCA Head Start is opening a new classroom for 4 year old children at Ansonville Elementary School in August 2026, and we are now recruiting families for the 2026–2027 program year.

Head Start helps children build the skills they need for school and life through early learning, health, nutrition, family support, and school readiness services.

Families may qualify based on income, foster care, homelessness, TANF/SSI, SNAP or other eligibility factors.
