Putting a face with the funding…

We have been serving Allyson for about 2 years. She has been honest about her struggles and has mentioned many times of wanting help for her next steps. Today, she is finally ready! I sent her the link to apply for Oxford Housing, she did her application, showed up for the interview, and got approved! The next hurdle that most don’t understand, is the cost of not being homeless anymore. The deposit and first weeks rent is $330. That is a lot when you don’t have a job and can’t really get one because you don’t have stability, a shower, laundry, or electricity for an alarm clock. That is where all of our donors and our ministry come in. Your monitory donations, help fill in those gaps. It is a step up to help those struggling, get to their next step. Allyson has already started applying for jobs before she even moved in. She is looking forward to staying sober, working, and completing steps to get her life back on track. She is a mother of 3 little ones, a daughter, a niece, and our friend. We are so proud of Allyson for having the courage to make a change!! And we are so grateful for donors and volunteers like all of you, that help make this ministry possible! Because of you, today we now have #46 housed!💛✝️

Hello TBBP family, our pregnant mom that we have been housing in the RV is struggling to make her rent this month. It is due this Sunday. She has half but is working on the rest. She has several job applications in and we got her a bike this weekend to help get her further to look for more work. She has been struggling to find a job that works with the kids school schedule, lack of transportation, and being 5 months pregnant. If anyone would like to pitch in to help her cover the rest, she needs $325. Also, any job leads for day shift while her kids are at school. Please message me privately and we will coordinate a way to make this possible. She has been volunteering with us to help give back in every way she can. Thank you in advance 🙏

Praise report and praise for one of our volunteers!!!

Ms. Joyce #45, has been one of our hardest cases yet. You may remember our story about the disabled lady, we got in a tent and then it flooded and we had to move her again. You might have seen her struggling to get around the streets of Moncks Corner with her walker. Last weekend while we were out dropping off food and supplies during our mobile event, she literally cried and said she was scared she was going to loose her legs because the deterioration was so severe. She was in desperate need of housing so that she could sleep with her legs propped up verses in a chair hidden in a dumpster. Our ministry serves many unhoused friends in the Tri-County area. I wish I could give everyone my undivided attention but that is impossible. But thank God for others who find their special someone and go above and beyond for them! Ms. Joyce was LeeAnna’s one!! Leeanna with the support of her husband and family, would pick her up and bring her home with them. They allowed her to shower, nap, and do laundry at her home. She drove her to Georgetown, Asheville, followed up on appointments, hospitals, called countless shelters and facilities trying to find her shelter, just to hear that they can’t help her because of her health conditions. Well, yesterday after lots of prayers and hard work, LeeAnna had the pleasure of driving Ms. Joyce to the 180 Place🙌🙌!! 3 years of waiting, she finally got a bed! I am so grateful that Ms. Joyce is now out of the rain, heat, and upcoming cold. I am even more grateful that she can finally get the resources she needs to heal and get back onto her feet. But LeeAnna is an unsung hero in this story who I know does not want praise but I have to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to her for not just helping Ms. Joyce, but me!! She has been my boots on the ground when I couldn’t get there for several others and my cheerleader for so long!! I am grateful to have her on our team and call her friend!!

What a privilege to be selected as a honorary guest to join the festivities of Berkeley County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. this evening for their banquet. To see the strength and achievements amongst so many beautiful ladies supporting and encouraging each other was humbling! These ladies really know how to have a good time! From the attention to detail to the hearts to serve the community. It was an amazing night! ❤️🖤

👣⛰️Romans 10:15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”👣⛰️

🔥Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.🔥

We saw both of these scriptures this past Saturday during our mobile event. Friday evening I came across a post that was intended to be negative about some people in need but was a great opportunity to bring awareness to us. When I posted my interest in helping, another young man saw my comment and said “any chance y'all have an extra pair of work boots laying around? I been struggling a lot lately and working my but off to keep me and my babies afloat. They have everything they need and I am greatful and count my blessings, I just can't seem to catch a break or catch up enough to afford a set of boots that aren't talking to me. Size is 13 wide. If you don't I understand.” My reply was “I actually have a brand new pair that I bought today, size 13 not wide though. I found them on sale and I felt like God said "get these". So they may be for you!! If you can meet us at Food Lion in MC @12:00 for our first stop in the morning, I'll be happy to let you try them on. If they fit, there yours💛!” Sure enough…. They fit!! God got him boots before I even knew he had a need!!

While meeting with this young man, we found out his children’s mother had left. Struggling to work and with childcare he unfortunately lost his apartment leaving him homeless with two children. He is now doing everything he can to keep a roof over their heads. This meeting did more than just provide boots. We were also able to give him hope for a better future. We will continue working with this young man.

The day continued with many needs and heavy hearts. We are working continuously to help in every way we can. Even with an hour of rain down pour, we took shelter under a bank awning and kept serving. We even had a guest ride along with us to other stops to help aid his fellow campers in other camps.

We always leave so overwhelmed with concern and joy. I am so grateful for every volunteer that sacrifices their time to make these events possible and Berkeley County Coroner's Office, Kennedy Center Prevention, and The Well for always serving along side us to help keep our friends safe!

Looking forward to serving you again next month, October 24 for community shower event partnering with Faith Church - Goose Creek.
