SERVICE OPPORTUNITY ✝️🙏🙌🦶👣

Hello TBBP family!! Most of you that know me, know that I really struggle to ask for help. I will drowned to a point before I’ll ask and that is a weakness of mine that I am still working on. But I am definitely here to ask.

Truly, the hardest part of this ministry is the collecting and organization of donations. Lately it has fallen on me to do everything by myself, and to be honest I simply cannot do it alone anymore.

Our container is overflowing(a good problem to have), and I could really use some extra hands to sort and pack for the trailer events.

I definitely want it to be more than just work, so I would like to start a Friday morning crew of men and women who would like to come together and do breakfast and devotionals from 8:30 till 9:00, then serve together from 9 to 11 sorting donations. This event would be the first and third Friday of every month.

If this is something you are interested in, please message me privately so we can get a group together. Also, if you are interested in joining and would like to help lead devotionals, please let me know that information as well.

Our first day of service will be Friday, September 18 at 8:30am.

This is why shower events are so important to us and why I have been doing my best to fundraise and build our own shower trailer 🙏

#43 and #44 off the streets!!

NOT ALL HOMELESS RESOLUTIONS LOOK ALIKE!
It is not a one size fits all situation. Not everyone needs rehabilitation, not all function well in a shelter, rarely are shelters available, not all are mentally or physically well enough for a facility, sometimes Oxford houses or transitional homes aren’t a good fit, and I don’t always have a room or camper available. It takes getting to know each person who is ready for change, learning their heart and needs, thinking outside the box, and finding the right fit. Sometimes, it’s CLM, other times it’s put them on a bus with a bag full of snacks and sending them to another state that has resources. But today, we thought outside the box! While getting #43’s laundry washed to move into a camper that was donated to him, we met #44. He doesn’t struggle with addiction, just simply out of work and down on his luck. Of course I called all the shelters and none had available beds, I called all my connections and nothing worked out, but fortunately we found an avenue in another state that could take him. So with a few clicks, we had a bus ticket secured and in the morning, he has a new beginning awaiting him! I wish I could say combating homelessness was easy, but it’s not! But I assure you, God is with us every step of the way and He makes the way! God definitely made me stubborn and persistent for a reason because I don’t accept “No”! I keep fighting until we find the solution! But as always, this is not a 1 woman show! This takes a community of believers, coming together to make it possible! One may donate a camper, another funds to help buy a bus ticket, but it definitely takes a village and each one of you who support God’s ministry is helping make miracles in many lives!

**Updates!! Updates!! #42 will be going to church with us this weekend to support Pastor Kyle Kinard, #43 got a job today with some dear friends of ours 🙌, and #44 made it to his shelter in Ohio!! Oh we serve a good good God!! 🙌✝️

#42 off the streets and checked in Anchor House today!! When I pulled up this morning to pick him up, an employee looked at me and asked if he was bothering me. I said “no, I’m actually here to pick him up to take him to a shelter. Sadly, he hit hard times and has been sleeping on the streets a few weeks waiting for someone to love him enough to give him a chance, and here’s his chance!” The look on her face 🤭.

#43 will move into a camper this Sunday that we had donated for him from a member of our community 🙌. He is already job hunting and ready to start his new life.

We are still housing the mom and her 3 kids waiting on their family unit at 180 Place. But we took them to lunch today and to the park on top of all our other DMV and tax office adventures trying to title the camper. God has had us busy but I’m so grateful for His goodness and blessings!! We cannot say thank you enough to our village that believes in this ministry and is helping fill in all the gaps to make these miracles happen! I love how God uses all His people to build His kingdom! 🙌💛✝️

Sometimes you go to church, sometimes you are the church….💒

When working 2 jobs, 6 days a week and running ministry, and time sensitive situations arise, sometimes Sundays are the only days I have. This morning we transition our mom and her kids into a new temporary living arrangement. The 180 Place didn’t work out this week due to miscommunication but one of our volunteers was so accommodating and allowed the family to stay with them until I could have time to get them moved in.

Trying to be a good steward of the money God has provided, we found that a campground would be more financially feasible versus the continued stay in a hotel until her unit opens. We were blessed to have an RV available that was donated to build our mobile shower unit. Today, it will serve as a temporary shelter for those in need. So grateful for God providing this shelter before we even knew we needed it. 🙏

A few scriptures came to mind over the last 48 hours of ministry…

Friday, as I rushed around trying to pickup all the donations, organize, pack, and pre-cook before work at 3:00, it was; Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Friday night after getting off at 11pm to rush home and continue preparing it was; Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

This morning as I go the extra mile to make sure our friends have the best quality tasting food it was; Matthew 7:9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Today was hot!! On that concrete, in full sun, trying to serve our friends, it’s every bit of 120 degrees. We are pouring sweat, hustling around fixing plates, working the trailer, helping our friends look for needed items, follow-shipping, praying, and more. Even though it was hot, each volunteer selflessly sacrificed there Saturday to sweat and suffer with our friends. I love the hearts of our team! Each one truly loves our people and want to see them be loved well! It was too hot to think about pictures today but so many smiling faces and grateful hearts! But we got to see the first scripture on my heart, ring true at our last stop! “Don’t grow weary of doing good…”. We prayed as always, to open our day, asking God to give us our one. As always, He provided. Our very last stop, a new friend that heard about us from another friend, was ready to get off the streets. He was so hungry he devoured 2 plates in the matter of minutes. But in our time together, we were able to make the connections to get him in touch with 180 Place and he will be heading to the shelter Monday to start his new journey. This young man who simply hit a hard spot, will make #42 off the street because our community believes in this ministry! So thank you for not growing weary of doing good because at the proper time, He always reaps His harvest! All glory to God! He>i! He is the reason we love!
