💙 God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday! 💙
Today we celebrated the ELCA’s God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday by putting our faith into action—serving our neighbors both near and far.
🧴 100 Personal Care Kits were assembled and will be distributed throughout our community through our Little Free Food Pantry and our relationships with local social service organizations. These simple kits will provide practical care and a reminder to someone who may be going through a difficult time that their community cares about them.
🧵 We also held our Blessing of the Quilts, as we prayed over quilts that will travel around the world through Lutheran World Relief, bringing warmth, comfort, and love to people in need.
And today we celebrated two incredible quilt milestones! 🎉
✨ 125 quilts made in one year — the most we have ever made!
✨ 1,000 quilts made over the years!
One thousand quilts. Think about that for a moment. One thousand tangible expressions of love, prayer, time, and compassion that have gone from our congregation into the world.
None of this happens without the hands and hearts of our amazing volunteers—and it was made possible in part through the Ethel L. Verney Grant, which has helped us expand our ability to serve our neighbors.
This is what God’s Work. Our Hands. looks like:
Serving our neighbors.
Caring for our community.
Reaching around the world.
And putting our faith into action. ❤️
We give thanks to God for every hand that helped, every heart that cared, and every life that will be touched by this ministry.
