📸 SHOW US YOUR MOKENA! 📸

The Mokena Chamber of Commerce is looking for beautiful photos of our community to feature in our upcoming FREE 13-month Mokena Community Calendar!

Each year, 1,500 calendars are printed and distributed throughout Mokena, and we would love to showcase our community through the eyes of the people who live, work and spend time here.

We’re looking for photos that capture the scenery and character of Mokena, such as:

🌳 Parks, trails and nature
🌅 Sunrises and sunsets
🍂 Seasonal scenery
❄️ Snowy Mokena scenes
🌸 Flowers and springtime views
🏘️ Downtown and recognizable Mokena landmarks
🇺🇸 Community spaces and scenic views
📷 Unique or unexpected views that simply say “Mokena”

We are primarily looking for scenery rather than photos focused on specific people or individual businesses.

There is no monetary compensation for submitted or selected photos, but photographers whose images are chosen will receive photo credit in the calendar.

Have a great Mokena photo sitting in your camera roll? We’d love to see it!

📧 Email your photos to [email protected]

Please feel free to share this post with your favorite local photographer, amateur shutterbug or neighbor who always seems to catch the perfect Mokena sunset! 🌅

Who would’ve thought raising nearly $2 MILLION in equity and getting Village approval would be the easy part? 😉

Emerald Social Taps & Trucks is SO close to the finish line—and we’re ready to get this incredible concept out of our heads and into the ground!

Nearly $2 million raised in equity. ✔️
Property purchased. ✔️
Village of Mokena approval. ✔️
Plans complete. ✔️
An amazing team ready to go. ✔️

Now there’s just one exciting box left to check…

BREAK GROUND. 🚜☘️

As we enter this final stretch, we’re exploring an additional private debt raise of up to $1.5 million to help complete our construction financing. Lenders would receive a competitive fixed interest rate, with all terms and investment details shared privately.

And if you haven’t heard what we’re building yet… just wait. 👀

🍻 Taps and cocktails
🚚 Rotating food trucks
☕️ Emerald Cup Coffee
🍕 Pizza di Farfalla
🎶 Live music and entertainment
☀️ Indoor and outdoor gathering spaces
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A place built for families, friends and our community

Basically, it’s the kind of place we’ve always wished existed around here—so we decided to build it. ☘️

Maybe you’ve been looking for an opportunity like this. Maybe you know someone who has. Or maybe this post will reach exactly the person it’s supposed to.

Interested in learning more? Send us a private message or email: [email protected]
We’d love to share the project, plans and funding details privately.

We’ve done the hard part. Now let’s build this thing! 🍻☘️🚜

❤️ We join people around the world in remembering an American original, Dolly Parton.

For more than six decades, Dolly gave us music, but her legacy reaches far beyond the stage. She was also an entrepreneur, philanthropist, champion for children’s literacy, and an example of what can happen when success is paired with generosity and a love for people and community.

There is something especially meaningful to us as a Chamber of Commerce about Dolly’s final moments in the public eye.

✂️ 🎀 On June 24, just two months ago, Dolly surprised a crowd to help cut the ribbon at the grand opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop.

Of all the events an extraordinary life could make its final public stop, hers included a ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating a new business, welcoming people through its doors, and investing once again in a community.

We think that’s a pretty wonderful final chapter for someone who spent a lifetime opening doors for others.

💗🪽Thank you Dolly for the music, the laughter, the generosity, the books placed into the hands of millions of children, and the example you leave behind.

ETA: All boxes and bubble wrap are spoken for. We will have more available in about two months.

📦 FREE BOXES & BUBBLE WRAP! 📦

After a very busy spring and summer event season, the Chamber office has accumulated enough boxes to start a moving company.

Before we break them down and recycle them, we thought we’d see if anyone in the community could put them to good use!

We have a bunch of FREE large cardboard boxes, many of which would be great for moving, storage, organizing, shipping, building a cardboard fort… you decide. We also have packing bubble wrap.

Everything is FREE and available for pickup at the Mokena Chamber of Commerce office at 11104 Front Street, Suite 1B.

If you can use them, please come take them off our hands!

♻️ Reuse them, repurpose them, move with them… please help us reclaim our office! 😄
