Chamber member Free Haven Forest School has an opportunity for our area businesses!

🎄 A Christmas tree with your name on it. A little more joy along the trail.

Local businesses, families, and friends are invited to adopt a tree for our Nativity Hike on December 5!

✨ Showcase your business to local families
❤️ Celebrate your family or honor someone you love
🌲 Help bring Free Haven Forest School’s nature center closer to completion

Our last Nativity Hike welcomed more than 700 guests—and we’d love to have your tree become part of this year’s Christmas memories.

Decorate it yourself or let our elves handle the sparkle. Every sponsorship turns Christmas generosity into more discovery, wonder, and exploration for our students.

Trees are limited! Reserve yours today!

Would you like to promote your business through sponsoring a Giving Tree?

For a $75 investment you can purchase a live evergreen tree to decorate in the theme of your business, or any way you choose. Trees are displayed at Front Street and Wolf Road near the "Front Street Frosty" snowman decoration. Trees will be in place from the first week of December through the New Year holiday and will have a sign proudly displayed with your business logo/name.

You will be able to decorate your tree anytime between Nov. 30 - Dec. 4. PLEASE BRING AN EXTENSION CORD MARKED WITH YOUR BUSINESS NAME.

The community is then invited to come out and walk through the decorated Christmas trees to vote for their favorites on the evening of December 5. Votes are cast by placing non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys, or pet supply items under their favorite trees. Items will be donated to the Frankfort Township Food Pantry, Silver Cross Hospital's Pediatric Unit, and NAWS Animal Shelter. The winning business wins a free tree in 2027 and a trophy.

Link in the comments to secure your Giving Tree! We only have 23 availabe.

📸 SHOW US YOUR MOKENA! 📸

The Mokena Chamber of Commerce is looking for beautiful photos of our community to feature in our upcoming FREE 13-month Mokena Community Calendar!

Each year, 1,500 calendars are printed and distributed throughout Mokena, and we would love to showcase our community through the eyes of the people who live, work and spend time here.

We’re looking for photos that capture the scenery and character of Mokena, such as:

🌳 Parks, trails and nature
🌅 Sunrises and sunsets
🍂 Seasonal scenery
❄️ Snowy Mokena scenes
🌸 Flowers and springtime views
🏘️ Downtown and recognizable Mokena landmarks
🇺🇸 Community spaces and scenic views
📷 Unique or unexpected views that simply say “Mokena”

We are primarily looking for scenery rather than photos focused on specific people or individual businesses.

There is no monetary compensation for submitted or selected photos, but photographers whose images are chosen will receive photo credit in the calendar.

Have a great Mokena photo sitting in your camera roll? We’d love to see it!

📧 Email your photos to [email protected]

Please feel free to share this post with your favorite local photographer, amateur shutterbug or neighbor who always seems to catch the perfect Mokena sunset! 🌅
