My Joyful Heart is a unique charity that provides personalized assistance and encouragement for Chicago area and suburban children in need. As a faith-based organization, we endeavor to be a positive influence to these children in need by remembering them with basic life essentials, school supplies, clothing, toys and encouragement throughout each year until their situation improves or they move f

rom the area. My Joyful Heart provides the little things that may often be missing in the life of a child in need. By providing these gift packages regularly throughout the year we extend love and hope to these children, making them feel special and letting them know that people do care. Local, disadvantaged, high-risk children are given gift packages of essentials throughout the year, not just at Christmas. We are not a one-size-fits-all organization – gifts are specifically selected for each individual child. My Joyful Heart works in tandem with the Chicago Public Schools and other school districts to enroll needy children; the children who are coming to school without a jacket in the winter, the children who do not have proper shoes or clothing that fits, the children in need of hygiene and especially the children in need of encouragement and hope. We work closely with the school systems to ensure gifts are given to the children in our program and that he/she knows that someone cares. All this is made possible through sponsorships, donations, grants, fundraising and corporate support. My Joyful Heart continually strives to help local children as best we can.

🧶❤️ Calling All Crocheters & Knitters! ❤️🧶

We have a beautiful opportunity to help children remember God's call to "guard their hearts."

Throughout the month of June, we're hoping to collect as many tiny crocheted hearts as possible to share with the children we serve. Any color is welcome. Each heart will be a special reminder of God's love and protection.

Simply mail them in or drop them off at My Joyful Heart (we're here Monday–Thursday).

Thank you for helping us stitch encouragement, hope, and God's love into the lives of local children!

My Joyful Heart believes every child deserves books that match their reading level, interests, and spark a love of literacy. We work hard to give books at each of our gift events for the children.

We’re looking for volunteers that are able to get to the Will County Green event and collect a bag or a box to share with the children. Every book helps us encourage reading and build stronger readers in our community.

We’re constantly trying to keep up with the needs of local foster families and kiddos in care and right now these are some of our biggest gaps at Georgie’s Closet. 💛

If you’ve been cleaning out closets, garages, toy rooms, or baby gear… this is your sign. 👏

We are especially in need of:

✨ XXL+ men & women’s clothing
✨ Men’s athletic shoes size 10+
✨ Baby monitors & toddler activity tables
✨ Non-expired car seats in good condition

In Chicagoland, thousands of children arrive at school each year without basic necessities most of us consider routine: deodorant, socks, toothpaste, clean clothes, a winter coat, and school supplies.

For working families already stretched by rent, food, transportation, and medical expenses, even a small unexpected cost can create impossible choices.

A gift package from My Joyful Heart does more than meet a practical need. It reduces stress, builds confidence, and some teachers have seen a child more motivated in school.

For almost 25 years, we’ve witnessed how small acts of care can create lasting impact in the lives of local children and families.

Sometimes hope looks like a backpack filled with necessities.

Today was such a joy at My Joyful Heart! 💙

We were blessed to welcome an amazing group of young adults from St. Coletta's of Illinois who spent their time serving with such heart. Together, they packed an incredible 146 hygiene bags that will help children feel confident.

Their smiles, teamwork, and servant hearts filled our building with joy today. Thank you, St. Coletta, for sharing your time and love with us today, you truly made a difference!
