Center on Women, Gender and Public Policy, Humphrey School Since 1985, the Center on Women, Gender, and Public Policy has illuminated gender-based disparities through research, teaching, and public engagement.

The Center on Women, Gender and Public Policy illuminates gender-based disparities through research, teaching, and public engagement. In partnership with students, faculty, policy makers and community leaders, the Center advances effective public policies that create a more equitable world. Formed in 1985 as the nation’s first comprehensive teaching, research, and outreach center devoted to women

and public policy, the Center builds on a long tradition of:

* Engaging students, faculty, the public and decision-makers of all genders in dialogue, policy-making and action for the common good;
* Conducting community-engaged research that helps solve the most pressing disparities and challenges related to sex, gender and other aspects of a person’s identity (e.g. race, class, ethnicity, family status);
* Supporting women leaders and leaders of all genders who contribute to a more gender-equitable world;
* Sustaining a network of faculty, students, alumni, policymakers and partners that grounds the Center’s work and enables high impact action.
