🚨 $2,500 Scholarship Opportunity for Delaware First Responder Families! 🚨

The Shaffer Foundation of Delaware First Responder Scholarship is now accepting applications!

If you meet the following eligibility requirements, we encourage you to apply:

🎓 Education Level: High school student graduating in 2027
🎯 Future Goals: Planning to attend an accredited college, university OR trade school
👨‍🚒 Background: Must be the child of a Delaware first responder — Firefighter, Fire Police, Police Officer, Paramedic, or Dispatcher

Trade school students are absolutely eligible to apply! 🔧👷‍♀️🎓

One deserving student will receive a $2,500 scholarship to help support their educational journey and future success.

🚒 ANOTHER FRONTLINE STORY IS HERE! 🚒

This week, we’re joined by Bryan Pepper, Treasurer, and Bernie Edmondson, Chief Marketing Officer, of the Lewes Fire Department to talk about the department’s growing needs and the importance of community support.

Bryan explains how the fire department is funded and why they must continue to raise additional funds to cover the costs of equipment, training, facilities and other critical needs.

As our community continues to grow, so do the expenses. Many people who move here from New Jersey, New York, Baltimore and other areas may not realize that volunteer fire departments are NOT fully funded by taxes.

Bryan and Bernie also discuss their partnership with the Greater Lewes Foundation and the new Lewes Fire Department Foundation, created to help raise crucial funds for the department.

🚑 FRONTLINE STORIES: GET TO KNOW Georgetown EMS/Station 93 🚑

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Deanna Loeb and Steve Chapis from Georgetown EMS – Station 93 for another Frontline Story!

In this interview, we get to know Deanna and Steve beyond the uniform — learning about who they are, how they became EMTs, and what inspired them to dedicate their time to serving others in our community. ❤️🇺🇸

Being an EMT is about so much more than responding to an emergency. It’s about compassion, commitment, teamwork, and being there for someone when they need help the most.

We also talk about what it means to serve the Georgetown community and the people who answer the call, day or night, to help others.
