Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Family-Friendly Friday: Frog Slog!

This immersive evening gave participants the opportunity to explore local vernal pools while searching for and identifying the frogs that call our region home. Through observation and listening for calls, attendees learned more about the diversity of amphibians found in South Jersey.

A special thank you to CU naturalists Tony Klock and Kathy Michel for sharing their expertise and assisting with frog identification. We also thank the AmeriCorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program for highlighting the macroinvertebrates found in these habitats and helping participants better understand the health of our local waterways.

Thank you to all who attended and helped make this annual event a success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for What It's Like to Be a Bug: Diptera with Michael Hoban of the NJDEP.

During the presentation, participants explored the remarkable diversity of flies and mosquitoes found in New Jersey, learning about their identification, life histories, and ecological significance. Although often overlooked, members of the order Diptera play critical roles as pollinators, decomposers, and food sources within healthy ecosystems.

Following the presentation, attendees participated in an insect-focused BioBlitz in the WheatonArts gardens, where they applied their newfound knowledge while documenting the variety of insects inhabiting in this native garden.

Don't miss our next installment of What It's Like to Be a Bug, where we'll explore the world of dragonflies. You can register for that event by using the following link: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/zrz8q2m
